RMS Honors Our Veterans

This year, RMS began a new initiative to honor veterans while also raising money for a local veteran organization. With all of your support, we were able to raise almost $1000 to our local VFW! Thank you!

Along with being honored in the video below (enjoy!), the veterans also had a flag placed outside the RMS Kiosk by the Student Council. Thank you for all of your support!

We all play a role in making Rombout Middle School the great place that it is! Thank you!

RMS October Students of the Month

RMS has partnered with the Beacon Elks Lodge to recognize students in 6th, 7th and 8th grade each month. Teachers and staff nominate students based on these tenets:

  • Overcoming obstacles
  • Demonstrates respect to the student body and faculty and/or honors and respects others' property.
  • Exhibits behaviors of an upstander.
  • Student is working to his or her potential and/or shows improvement in areas that are challenging.
  • Shows a strong commitment to continuing their education.
  • Demonstrates acceptance and tolerance of the differences in others.
  • Goes above and beyond to show support of others.Demonstrating the ability to work independently.
  • Exhibits good time management/organizational skills.
A committee then reads through the nominations and chooses one student for each grade.

Congratulations to the students below!

At the end of each month, RMS students are able to vote for their favorite lesson of the month. They are able to explain what the lesson was about, why they liked it, and how it made them feel special. Congratulations to Ms. Koren and Ms. Lynch for their planning, organizing, and implementing their "Ice Cream in-a-bag lesson!"
