WE ARE SO HAPPY TO HAVE STUDENTS BACK! WE ARE SO HAPPY TO HAVE STUDENTS BACK!

We had a wonderful first day of school! Our New Student Day, facilitated by our Student Ambassadors, was filled with fun and connection. Ambassadors led TAs, village soccer, kickball, recess games, and team challenges, while also helping students find their classrooms. They represented our school with great pride by modeling kindness, welcoming others, and making sure everyone felt included in the activities. On day two, all students are settling into the full swing of classes. With many schedule changes and moving pieces, we are working together to figure it all out—and we appreciate everyone’s patience and flexibility as we get the year underway!

Teacher Inservice was INCREDIBLE! Teacher Inservice was INCREDIBLE!

During our teacher in-service, staff explored the “wheel effect”—how each person is an important spoke in the wheel of our school community and how our actions, choices, and relationships can influence one another. Using the Courageous Conversations framework, we engaged in honest, thoughtful dialogue about how we can strengthen our connections, support one another, and raise the bar for our students and school community. Most importantly, we came together as a close-knit team that genuinely enjoys being here, learning together, and having fun. Our staff’s sense of collaboration, care, and shared purpose will continue to make a positive difference for students throughout the year.

Mavis MacNeil, Vocal and Theatre Teacher

Mavis MacNeil is very excited to join the PAML community this year as the new Chorus and Theater teacher. Ms. MacNeil grew up and attended in the Northeast Kingdom, and has been teaching in Vermont since 2021. Outside of school, she plays and sings in several ensembles including Halcyon Chorale, The Local Folk Orchestra, and The Birdhouse Band. Aside from making music, she enjoys reading, gardening, swimming, and spending time with family and friends. She is looking forward to getting to know the PAML students and community this year, and putting on some great performances!
