This Friday, November 13 will be a SYNCHRONOUS BLUE DAY. Please remember to be "on" with your students this day.

With the Friday 4:15 PM deadline, it is strongly advised to strictly contain your work to class and NOT assign anything to complete outside of class.

Now that it is known how the first semester will conclude and the spring semester will begin, it is important to refocus on the norms established at the start of this school year.

Remember: this is not the same school year, and you should not expect to conduct your class in the same manner. OCSA Administration fully supports teachers changing, tweaking, and letting things go!

Deadlines/Due Date Norms

• Conduct instruction with the goal for student work to be completed by the end of the scheduled class time
• Utilize deadline of Friday at 4:15 PM for students to submit outstanding student work not completed within the scheduled class time

Google Classroom and Synchronous Instruction Norms

• Be present and live for each class at the scheduled start time

• Deliver minimum 15 minutes of high quality live instruction in each class

• Make a good faith effort to limit recorded videos or lectures (where teachers communicate one-way or conduct a lesson without student interaction) to 15-20 minutes in length, understanding that highly specialized classes may require additional time spent on learning material

As we look ahead to finals week, please note that the bell schedule will remain exactly the same as it is now - the instructional day will conclude at 1:45 PM.

As mentioned in the staff meeting on Friday, there is no normal to this semester - maybe this is the year to not have a normal final.
