2. PTA Meeting – Tuesday, March 11th
Join us for our next PTA meeting on March 11th at 7:30pm in in the cafeteria or through zoom.(a link will be sent out the day of the meeting) We’ll discuss upcoming events, volunteer opportunities, and any important school updates. Your input is always appreciated!

3. Tshirts!
Tshirt forms were sent out last week. We ask that all forms are handed back by Wednesday, March 19th. We plan to get that order in by the weekend, and hope shirts are available to us by the end of April. Each student and staff member will receive a FREE shirt. If anyone is interested to purchase one, they are $10 each for size Youth X Small to Adult Extra Large and $12 for Adult 2Xlarge to 4Xlarge. Payments acceptable are cash or a check made payable to Hamburg PTA. You can also purchase your shirts online at https://www.zeffy.com/ticketing/hamburg-shirts

Thursday, March 20th begins Egg My Yard. Forms will be sent home to those interested in having it done for Easter weekend. Forms are due back by April 9th. If you are interested in donating eggs or stuffers, please reach out to us. We truly appreciate all donations, help and support for our fundraisers.

5. Family Movie Night:
Friday, March 28th at 7pm is Family Movie Night. This is not a drop off event. All students must be accompanied by an adult. There is a $2.00 entry fee and with that is a chance to win the movie of the night! Right now you can vote online for which movie you would like to see play the night of. Message from the Hamburg School PTA ...

Dear Friends, Family, and Business,

The Hamburg PTA is a registered 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization in good standing, whose sole purpose is to enhance the educational experience of the students of Hamburg School. We are looking for sponsors like you to help us raise money for the school's sound system. The sound system is used for many events like the school play, Adult Bingo, 8th grade Graduation, Winter and Spring concerts, assemblies and more. Our goal is to raise $7,000. A generous donation like yours will help make this a great success to help us reach our goal. We rely heavily on support from our friends and family in the community, as well as businesses and organizations outside of our immediate area. Having the sound system fixed and updated will benefit so many aspects of the school. Attached is our flyer with all Sponsor Levels of Business's, Friends, and Family. Donations can be made by cash, a check payable to Hamburg PTA, or paid online. Your consideration of our request is greatly appreciated. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach us via email, hamburgpta@gmail.com. Thank you!!!!

The Sussex County Miners Professional Baseball Team is thrilled to partner with over forty schools in the region to promote the importance of good reading habits. The Sussex County Miners Reading Club supports professional educators by providing students and their families with a structure to develop and maintain regular reading habits and a fun reward for all who complete the three-week reading incentive. Strong, routine reading habits help children build vocabulary and strengthen comprehension, increase empathy, and develop better writing skills.

Each child who reads an average of 100 minutes per week for three weeks (that is twenty minutes per day outside of school, at least five days per week) will receive two tickets to enjoy a Miners game at Skylands Stadium in Augusta. There will be a special weeknight game in the summer designated to celebrate each school! It will be a fun summer reunion game for students, faculty, and staff! Video highlights of the school year will be featured on the Skylands Stadium video board. Lucky students, faculty, and staff will participate in the Miners’ between-inning games and contests. Also, a student and staff representative from each school will get to throw out the ceremonial first pitch!

To receive your child’s free tickets by email, a parent/guardian must complete the form at the end of this message. If your child participated last year, you will recall paper reading logs. Those logs are no longer required. Each parent who registers will receive a separate digital form at the end of the incentive period to attest that your child met the reading requirements.

The Sussex County Miners are one of eighteen teams to play in the Frontier League, the oldest continually running independent league in the United States and a Major League Baseball Partner League. The Miners play a 96-game schedule from May through August, and their 48 scheduled home games are at Skylands Stadium in Augusta.

If parents/guardians have questions about this program, please email the Miners’ Coordinator of Community Engagement, Scott Davies, at Scott@scminers.com.

Complete this form to register for this free program!

March Above the Influence Meetings

Tuesday, March 11, 2025 @ 3:00-4:00 (Library)

Hidden in Plain Sight

Hidden in Plain Sight will be provided on Wednesday, March 12th, beginning at 6:00 pm at High Point Regional High School. Presented by the Coalition for Healthy and Safe Communities in collaboration with High Point Regional High School and Wantage Township, this presentation is suitable for parents and other adult community members who work with or care about young people to prevent youth drug misuse. Did you recently find a vape in your child’s pocket or read a text about pods or flowers and wondered what that’s about? Seemingly “innocent” items commonly used by youth could actually indicate a substance use problem. This awareness presentation will allow adults to be more proactive in helping a young person who might be using alcohol or other drugs. Hear from prevention specialists about drug trends, how to prevent youth substance use disorders, and understand resources available to help keep youth healthy.

Would you be able to recognize signs of use and intervene before they become impossible to ignore? This “Hidden in Plain Sight” presentation will equip parents and community members with the knowledge to look past the obvious and become aware of the signs and symptoms of drug misuse.

Parents are invited to bring their children as Pizza dinner will be provided. After dinner, children will engage in activities while parents attend Hidden in Plain Sight. Registration is required and can be completed using the QR code below.

For those in Attendance, one $50.00 Gift Card Door Prize Raffle will be provided by Wantage Township

The Wallkill Valley Community Coalition will be hosting a Developmental Asset Night for families on Tuesday, March 18th from 6:00-7:00pm at the Hardyston Middle School in the media center. All families from Franklin, Hardyston, Hamburg, and Ogdensburg are invited to attend; all ages welcome. Dinner (pizza) is included!
