MVMS Family Update

Parent-Teacher conferences are next week. There will be no school for students on Thursday, November 7th and Friday, November 8th.

Below is the parent-teacher conference times.

• Wednesday , November 6th from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM
• Thursday, November 7th from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Conferences are by appointment only. Information on signing up for conferences has been shared by your student’s team, and you can also access details from both the team and Unified Arts teachers by clicking the button below.

The Jacket Closet initiative at Mount Vernon Middle School aims to support students in need by providing a safe space where they can access essential items such as school supplies, clothing, shoes, and personal hygiene products, all free of charge. Catering to a diverse student body, with 45% qualifying for free and reduced lunch, the program seeks to address the high demand for resources by accepting donations of gently used and new items, in sizes ranging from Youth Medium to Adult XL, as well as non-perishable food items. The school is committed to enhancing the well-being of its students and their families through this vital support system.

The MVMS Veterans Day Breakfast is quickly approaching. Students that invite a Veteran are dismissed from class during the breakfast to eat with them at the breakfast. Students are able to RSVP their veteran or the veteran can RSVP and put the name of the student they are connected to when registering. RSVP by Nov the 8th.

Picture Day at MVMS was October 15th. The event code is FE130424. Below is a flyer with all the information you need to order pictures.

To support our Veterans Day Breakfast event, we are holding a T-shirt fundraiser featuring military-themed designs. All items will be shipped directly to customers. There are several different options to choose from. A few examples are shown below. Please place your order by November 1st to receive your shirt in time for Veterans Day.

Homework help is an after school opportunity for students to receive additional help completing assignments and takes place in the Library most Tuesdays and Thursdays after school until 4 pm. Bussing is available to Columbia, Knox Learning Center, East Elementary, Pleasant Street Elementary, and Dan Emmett Elementary. Come prepared to work and stay on top of your assignments this school year.

At MVMS we use multiple forms of communication to keep you "in the know" of what is happening at our school. Parent updates like this one are sent at least every other week and are posted through our social media sites as well as through our website and instant alerts.
