Superintendent's Weekly Update

This year we welcomed many new administrators, including several new Principals and Assistant Principals across the district. Students and families at Seach have welcomed both a new Principal and Assistant Principal, who have quickly immersed themselves in the school community.

To help you get to know Principal Pires and Asst. Principal Walters, and learn more about the great work happening at Seach, Wildcat Media Club is developing a mini series to offer an inside look at this exceptional school and the many new and returning faces who strive to create not just great students, but great citizens. You can watch part one of the mini series below.

As a reminder, next Tuesday, December 13 is a half-day for professional development. Don't forget to check your student's school newsletter for upcoming holiday concerts, events, spirit days and special programs as we wind down the final weeks before Winter Break.

Have a great weekend!

Best Regards,

Robert Wargo

Superintendent

Join us as we share an inside look at Seach Elementary school where students and staff are engaged and empowered, and strive to create both great students, and great citizens, every day.

Seach is representative of the world, and students at Seach benefit from a diverse environment. Diversity has scientific benefits in the classroom including increased innovation and collaboration, increased cultural awareness, gaining new perspectives, improved self-efficacy in learners, increased empathy and an enriched educational experience.

Come take a walk through Seach with us, and get a feel for what it's like to be a part of the Seach family!

THANK YOU Wildcat Media Club!

Murphy Elementary School initiated an after school "Media Club" facilitated by Will Dreyfus. For the first session, 11 of our 5th graders work with him once a week to learn about media production.

This year Murphy started a new rewards system through the PBIS program. There is an incentive draw every Wednesday and students select from a menu of incentives, including lunch with the Principal, a karaoke song from the assistant principal and participation in the morning announcements.

Murphy celebrated Veterans day throughout November with a variety of activities, including families creating profiles of family / friend veterans that were hung in the front lobby. We also had a full school assembly involving multiple students and staff.

We continued our ST math progress in November, recognizing outstanding individual performances each week.

We celebrated the concept of giving (and had fun) participating in our annual Turkey Trot. This fun event provided an opportunity for discussions about kindness and giving. Grade levels were paired to cheer for one another as they ran.
