Renewal Agreements
You should have received your document from your building principal
A few things to note:
- The placements on the form are for 25-26 and do not reflect any advancement for next year.
- Longevity pay is not technically a step, so anyone at MA+45 Step 15 that receives longevity will just see MA+45 Step 15 on their sheet.
- They are due to HR by March 15th (which is a Sunday), so if you don't have it to your principal by Friday morning, email it to me over the weekend.
- If you are in the process of applying an interviewing or for another reason, your decision might be down to the wire, please let your principal know.
InsightEx Survey Results
Survey Closed! Data will be shared with buildings during March 13th PD Day
Thank you for taking the time to complete the survey. Part of our partnership with HumanEx and the InsightEx Survey includes a team of people who will come to KPS and discuss how to analyze the data from the survey. There will be a time for each building to meet during that day. It may filter over into teacher worktime, but we plan to schedule pockets of work time throughout the day so that teachers still have time to grade and take care of other end of term tasks. The schedule will be sent out a week prior.
Professional Advancement - New Process
Changes to Self-Paced Courses!!!!
As you look for courses to take over the summer, please see this langugage from the negotiated agreement. Online programs are still accepted, but please do some checking to ensure that they 1. are part of an online graduate program and 2. not the self-paced stand alone courses.
In a nutshell...Idaho State and similar type coursework will not be accepted unless they are credits that are transferred in as part of an online program with another school. There are many approved and accredited online programs to earn a Master's degree available, it is only the self-paced stand alone courses that are no longer accpepted. If you have additional questions, please let me know.
"Credits earned after the MA Degree must meet one of the following criteria: 1. Be related to an advanced degree such as an Education Specialist or Doctorate in related educational field. 2. Be in a second Master’s degree program 3. Be part of a program that may allow the teacher to teach dual credit coursework 4. Contribute to the staff member’s ability to add an additional endorsement or 5. Be in an area approved by the Superintendent or designee based upon the goals of the building or district. Additionally, online coursework and programs will be allowed, but self-paced online courses will only be allowed if they are within an approved program or otherwise in an area approved by the Superintendent or designee based upon the goals of the building or district."
Exit Survey
For those who are leaving us this year, complete now and schedule your exit interview!
I have a few different ways to gather information from staff members who are leaving KPS. You can start by completing your exit survey HERE. You can also reach out to me and schedule a time for an Exit Interview. See my last email for more information or reach out wiht questions.
All information is complete confidential and is intended to help us grow and get better as a district.
Leave Page
Leave Page
As we enter spring, please refer to the leave page for questions about leave. The most common questions we receive are about 5% (Red) days and requesting and exception. Spring is our most challenging time of year for subs to be prepared to have an overage request denied by your principal if it is a high sub day. Remember that the 5% calendar (linked on the leave page) is not a live update. This means that a day and move from orange to red at any time. If you enter a day and it locks you out, talk with your principal to see if it is possible to secure coverage.
Summer Professional Development Requests
Complete the Form Below to Request Paid Summer Work
Each year we offer an opportunity for staff to request paid time in the summer to complete various Professional Development and Curriculum goals. If you are interested, please visit with your principal, submit your request and the appropriate Director will contact people to let you know who is approved.
