A few words from Dr. Ford...
What an exciting start to the school year! This past week, we had the pleasure of welcoming our incoming sixth-grade students during Transition Day. It was wonderful to see students exploring the building, meeting their teachers, learning new routines, and beginning to build connections with their classmates. The enthusiasm, curiosity, and positive attitudes our sixth graders brought with them were a great reminder of the excitement that comes with starting middle school.
We were also thrilled to welcome all students back for the first day of school. Our hallways quickly filled with energy and laughter as students reunited with friends, met new teachers, and began settling into their classes. The start of a new school year always brings a sense of anticipation, and our students rose to the occasion by demonstrating respect, responsibility, and a readiness to learn.
As we move forward, our focus will be on establishing routines and expectations that promote student learning and success. Strong routines help create a positive and productive learning environment where students feel supported, engaged, and confident. We encourage families to continue partnering with us by helping students maintain consistent attendance, stay organized, and develop habits that will contribute to a successful school year.
Thank you for your continued support of Rustburg Middle School. We are excited about the year ahead and look forward to working together to ensure every student has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.
Warmly,
Dr. Erica Ford

View Bus Stop Information for Your Child
You may view your child's transportation information in two ways:
- Parent Portal - Here you will be able to find bus number, stop location, and morning & afternoon pickup times. If you have not yet created a parent portal account or need assistance accessing your account, please contact your child's school for assistance.
- BusQuest App - CCPS now offers another way to stay up to date with route information for your student with the BusQuest app. Parents can access the same information that is in the parent portal (bus number, pick up and drop off location, and times), in addition to receiving alerts about any changes to route pick up and drop off times. The student's primary contact will receive an email from info@ezrouting.com with a link and instructions on how to register for the BusQuest app.
