Our Giving Tree donation box was overflowing with generous gift donations.

Dear Cedar Point Families,

The holidays are a wonderful time to share extra cheer and joy. It was a heartwarming experience to witness such a caring community culture supporting the many events, programs, and activities of our Champion Cheetah students. We greatly appreciated all of the classroom donations, visits and support of our teachers and staff.

We were also grateful for the overwhelming generosity of our families who donated towards our giving tree collection. Thanks to your donations, we were able to support more than a dozen families for the holidays.

As we ring in the new year, we are excited about the many events planned for 2025 and we look forward to our continued partnership with all of our Cedar Point families.

Thank you for your continued support.

Yours in Education,

Aerica A. Williams, M.Ed., Principal

Laura A. Crawford, Assistant Principal

PWCS Winter Weather Policy PWCS Winter Weather Policy

zoom_out_map
When bad weather or other emergencies situations occur, it may be necessary for Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS) to modify normal operations by canceling school, delaying opening, closing schools early, or moving to virtual/remote learning.

PWCS reviews information from emergency management, meteorologists and state highway administrators about road conditions, and school personnel also inspect the conditions of roads throughout the county, sidewalks, parking lots and bus lanes. Decisions are made based on county-wide conditions and weather forecasts to ensure the safety of all students, staff, and residents across more than 350 square miles, with significant elevation changes. This means closings may occur when conditions might not seem particularly bad in your immediate area.

PWCS tries to make decisions on delays and closings as many hours in advance as possible, in consideration of families who need time to make proper arrangements. In most cases, the decision will be made the night before; or in uncertain conditions, not later than 4:30 a.m. on the morning of closing. Once weather-related decisions are made, weather communications will then follow as rapidly as possible.

Make sure you're getting communications by ensuring your contact information in ParentVUE is up to date. PWCS will send out email and text message communications in the event of closures, delays, etc. You can also find this information on the PWCS website or Facebook page.

Code Red? Code Orange? What do all the codes mean?

Check out the descriptions of our PWCS Hazardous Condition Codes here.

Cedar Point Code Orange information will also be sent home soon.
