Our School Community
Our middle school is committed to creating an inclusive, challenging, and supportive environment where students can grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Our dedicated staff works tirelessly to ensure each student receives the attention and resources they need to thrive.
Throughout the year, you'll receive my weekly newsletter keeping you informed about school events, student achievements, and other important information. This is a key source of schoolwide information. I believe strongly in maintaining open communication between school and home.
On that note, please feel free to reach out to your child’s teachers, counselors, or administrators at any time with feedback or questions. We are here to provide support for each and every student.
Looking Ahead
The beginning of a new school year brings fresh opportunities for growth, learning, and building lasting memories. Our staff has been preparing diligently to provide your children with engaging educational experiences that will inspire their curiosity and love of learning.
We are incredibly excited to welcome our students on August 27th and to see the hallways and classrooms filled with energy and enthusiasm once again.
Should you have any questions before the start of school, please don't hesitate to contact our main office after August 11th or reach out to a member of the admin team.

From the desk of Dr. Monica Haule, Assistant Principal
Dear Students and Families,
I would like to take the opportunity to welcome each and every one of you to our outstanding school this fall. I am honored to be in this role for the sixth year in a row and fulfill dreams of mine. This is a place that feels like home!
There are so many opportunities for students to enhance their skillset, have fun and connect with their peers due to a variety of clubs, activities, and schoolwide celebrations. Our Associated Student Body, or ASB, includes engagement ranging from the tech-oriented Game On Club, to our Drama Club that sells out shows every spring. We also hold several affinity groups that are open to ALL students, including our Latinx Student Union and Black Student Union. We have an activity bus that takes students home who stay after school for clubs and a sports bus for athletes. It is my sincere hope that all clubs and organizations will have an advisor by the start of the school year.
I am passionate about providing our pupils with a world class education – all of them – inside and outside of the classroom! That is where you – parents and guardians – come in partnership with our school. Every November, we honor our country’s veterans, and we’d love to invite anyone who has served in the military – no matter what country – to attend our Veteran’s Day celebration in November. In the spring, we celebrate the diversity of Evergreen by holding a Multicultural Night filled with good food, fun and entertainment. It is essential that our youth see the adults in their lives being recognized, honored and showered with appreciation.
Finally, we could always use your support, ingenuity and creativity by joining PTA and Natural Leaders. Many executive positions are available this school year, and this is a great way to get involved in our school community and ensure your voice is heard.
I look forward to continued and authentic partnerships with our students, families and greater community,
In Community,
Dr. Monica Haule

Important First Day Information
School Supplies: Students will need some basic school supplies. One of the most important items is the backpack they will use. They need a place to safely store their Chromebook during the school day and to and from school. In addition to that most important item, your can refer to the list provided below.
Drop Off: At the northwest side of the school is the main entrance through which families and our specialized buses come through. Please enter through the entrance into the main parking lot and drive all the way in and down to the covered basketball area to drop your child. Please take special care to not drop your child until you reach that area. The specialized buses need access to the area directly in front of the school in that small roundabout area. Please do not enter that area, but instead, follow the signs to take the turn into the parking lot to snake around to the basketball courts.
Breakfast: When students enter the building at 7:15 they are welcome to go directly to the cafeteria for their breakfast. There are a variety of items available both hot and cold. There is no charge for breakfast or lunch.
Lunch: Students will be dismissed for lunch or recess based on their grade and teacher. They will either walk out to a supervised recess or directly to the cafeteria. They will trade midway through so that all students get adequate time to eat their lunches and to play outside. Again, there is no charge for lunch. There are a variety of options available and pork products are not served.
Pick up: When picking up your student after dismissal at 2:05 you will follow the same process as drop off. It is very important that you allow room for our specialized buses to enter and park directly in front of the office.

PTA Update!
What a Fantastic Year!
As the school year wraps up, we want to celebrate all that Evergreen Middle School PTA has accomplished—thanks to your support! This year, we hosted fun and engaging events like Bingo and Lotería Nights, After-School Movies, Winter Carnival, Cocoa for Kids, Staff Appreciation Week, and the unforgettable 8th Grade Dance. We also provided over $10,000 in additional support to our school and community!
Looking ahead, we’re hopeful and excited for what’s to come—but we need your help. We are still working to fill several essential PTA board and committee positions for next year. Without committed volunteers, many of these amazing programs may not be possible in the future.

Student Public Library Accounts Available!
All students in Everett Public Schools now have access to resources at both Everett Public Libraries and Sno-Isle Libraries, using a simple username and password for both. This partnership has expanded our students' access to ebooks, audiobooks, physical books, databases, and other digital resources.
This month, librarians will begin introducing the public library resources to students and helping them log in. It won't be all at once, but usernames and passwords will stay the same as long as the student is in the district. Please check with your school librarian for more information.
If you prefer to keep your student from accessing the public libraries, you can opt them out by filling out this form and returning it to your child's school

Seattle Children's Psychiatric Urgent Care Clinic
Seattle Children’s is happy to announce the opening Sept. 30 of a new Psychiatric Urgent Care Clinic, the first pediatric-focused psychiatric urgent care in Washington state. We hope you will share this information with your teams.
What: Same-day in-person and virtual (video) visits providing mental and behavioral health crisis assessment, initial treatment recommendations and referral to follow-up resources in the community. Care is provided by our experienced team of licensed mental health therapists, family advocates/case managers, psychiatric advanced practice providers (APPs) and medical assistants.
Who: Designed for youth ages 4 through 17 who are experiencing a mental health crisis and need same-day intervention but do not need the services of an emergency department (ED). We care for all Washington youth ages 4 through 17, including children and teens with autism and intellectual and developmental disabilities.
When: Open daily from noon to 8 p.m.; closed on major holidays.
Where: We see youth in person at Seattle Children’s Magnuson, located at 6901 Sand Point Way NE in Seattle, and through video visits from anywhere in Washington state. We recommend scheduling a same-day in-person appointment online or getting in the virtual line for a video visit. We have very limited capacity to see walk-ins and cannot guarantee walk-in access.
Please encourage families who live outside the Seattle area to use the virtual/video option. They must be physically in Washington state during the video visit.
How: Before scheduling a visit, learn whether to go to Psychiatric Urgent Care or an ED. A referral is not required.
- For in-person visits, schedule a same-day appointment online. (Scheduling opens at 12:01 am daily.)
- For video visits from anywhere in Washington state, get in the virtual line to be seen. (The first spots in virtual line open at 11:30 am daily.)
- Please note that spots in the virtual line will open up throughout the clinic day, please encourage youth and families to regularly check back for availability.
- Please note we have very limited capacity to see walk-ins and cannot guarantee walk-in access. Please encourage patients/families to schedule an in-person appointment online or get in the virtual line to be seen for a video visit.
Why: This new service – the first of its kind in the Washington, Alaska, Montana and Idaho region – is part of Seattle Children’s ongoing commitment to building out the continuum of care to ensure children and teens receive the right level of care at the right time. Psychiatric Urgent Care is intended to connect children and teens in Washington state to faster crisis assessment and follow-up resources in the community.
Please note that patients seen in the Psychiatric Urgent Care Clinic will not access other outpatient psychiatry services at Seattle Children’s faster than those referred through the normal process.
