Panther Update Family Edition #5
September 4, 2026

A Note From the Principal
Hello Panther Families,
Attendance Matters
This year, one of our schoolwide goals is to strengthen student attendance. We value learning, and we love having our Panthers here each day—connected to their teachers, engaged with their classmates, and participating in all our school has to offer.
We understand that illnesses, appointments, and other situations will sometimes require students to miss school. When students are healthy and able to attend, we ask families to partner with us in making attendance a priority. Together, we can help every Panther be present, feel connected, and make the most of each school day.
A Reminder About Outside Food
As part of our commitment to student health and safety, we also want to remind families of the following language from the Student Handbook:
“To comply with health department guidelines, Hamilton Southeastern Schools will provide only food prepared in an inspected kitchen. No food from ‘fast food’ establishments may be brought into the cafeteria area by any individual for consumption."
Please be mindful of this HSE Schools policy and refrain from dropping off fast food for students during the school day. Thank you for helping us follow these guidelines and maintain a safe and healthy cafeteria environment.
We wish all of our Panther families a wonderful and relaxing Labor Day weekend! We look forward to welcoming your student back to school on Tuesday morning, ready for another great week of learning.

Camp Tecumseh
Calling all 7th grade Dads, we are still in need of cabin dads for our upcoming trip to Camp Tecumseh.
We cannot pull this trip off each year without amazing cabin dads! This is an amazing opportunity to share a unique experience with your child in beautiful Brookston, Indiana.
The dates for our trip are Wednesday, October 28th-Friday, October 30th. If you are interested in being a cabin dad, please reach out to Nick Hibner at nhibner@hse.k12.in.us for more information. Thank you!
Car Rider Families
Attention Car Rider Families:
Please remember that the car rider entrance and exit are right turn only.
All vehicles must turn right when entering the school and right again when exiting.
Thank you for helping keep traffic moving safely and efficiently!
Clinic Minutes
Now that we are all gathered together for another great school year, this is when we see an increase in coughs and colds. Please remind your student to:
Wash hands often, especially after coughing, sneezing and using the bathroom
Cough or sneeze in the crook of their arm and not their hands
If they do cough/sneeze in their hand, please wash them immediately or use hand sanitizer
PLEASE complete your student's health card on Skyward. Go to your Skyward account and click on the tile reading "Student Health Card". Completing this ensures your student gets the best care possible and keeps them in school to learn.
