Reminders
Attendance:
Please see the following information as a reminder of Stockton Schools and Illinois policies.
All student absences must be reported by a parent or legal guardian to the office by phone on the first day of the absence.
When a student’s attendance rate drops below 90%, an attendance letter will be sent to the parent/guardian reminding them of attendance policies.
If a student has been ill for 5 or more consecutive days, an excuse from a medical doctor is required for the absence to be excused.
Any student that misses 10 or more school days, will be required to submit a doctor’s note in order for any subsequent absence(s) to be excused. The only exception is when the School Nurse sends a student home.
When a student’s attendance rate drops below 90% and/or the student misses 10 or more school days, the student may be referred to truancy.
Illinois attendance policies include both excused and unexcused absences when determining if a student is chronically absent.
Grades/Parent Concerns:
With school now into the month of October, please be sure to continue conversations with your students about their grades and behavior. If there are any issues with a grade, or behaviors in any classes, please reach out to teachers to address those issues. Parent/Teacher conferences are scheduled for 10/28 (2-7pm) and 10/29 (2-6pm) so please contact us to get a meeting scheduled. We want to work with you, as a team, to educate your student and give them the best chance to be successful at school and beyond!
