Message from Principal Muñoz
Thank You for an Incredible First PTA Fall Fest!
Dear Las Palmas Families,
What an incredible evening we shared at our first-ever PTA Fall Fest last Friday! We are extremely grateful to our PTA, volunteers, staff, and families who helped make this event such a tremendous success. Despite the rainy weather, our Las Palmas community showed its strength and spirit. Families came out to support one another, enjoy time together, and celebrate our school community. Throughout the evening, I received countless compliments from parents, community members, and visitors about the positive atmosphere, strong family engagement, and sense of community that makes Las Palmas so special.
This event was a beautiful reminder that one of our greatest strengths is the partnership between our school and our families. When we come together, we create meaningful experiences and lasting memories for our students.
Thank you for your continued support, enthusiasm, and commitment to our school. If Fall Fest was any indication, this is just the beginning of a wonderful new tradition at Las Palmas!
Together, we are building traditions, strengthening relationships, and creating a school community where every leader can thrive. 💛👑🍂

Thank a Staff Member
As we celebrate our amazing teachers and staff, we invite families to take a moment to recognize a staff member who has made a difference in your child's school experience. Use the link below to submit a Thank You message to a Las Palmas staff member. Simply complete the form with the name of the employee and a few words of appreciation from you and your child. A special certificate will be generated and presented to the staff member in recognition of their impact. This opportunity will be available throughout the school year, so we encourage you to help us celebrate the dedicated educators and staff who support our students every day! A few words of gratitude can make a big difference. Thank you for helping us recognize our outstanding Las Palmas team!
Leading and Learning the IB Way
Our Leaders Make Time to Celebrate Reading
At LPLS, our leaders are actively engaged in their learning through meaningful, hands-on experiences that make learning exciting and that help our leaders have fun while learning big concepts. Whether they are conducting investigations, collaborating on projects, creating solutions to real-world problems, or participating in interactive learning activities, students are encouraged to take an active role in the learning process. These opportunities help students build deeper understanding by allowing them to explore, question, and apply their knowledge in authentic ways.
These experiences align closely with the IB philosophy of developing inquiring, knowledgeable, and reflective learners. Through hands-on learning, students strengthen important Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills such as critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and self-management. As they engage with new ideas and challenges, our leaders learn to think creatively, work effectively with others, and reflect on their growth. We are proud of the enthusiasm and curiosity our Bobcats bring to their learning each day as they continue to develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to make a positive impact in the world.
Morning Mantra Muchachas
At Las Palmas, our leaders have the opportunity to sign up each month to lead the entire school in our morning mantra! Students select a date on the calendar, take responsibility for remembering their assigned day, arrive early, and use the intercom to inspire and motivate their fellow Bobcats.
This leadership opportunity allows our students to practice important IB Learner Profile attributes, especially being Risk-Takers and Communicators, as they confidently speak in front of the entire school community.
Below are last week's Morning Mantra Muchachas! We are so proud of these leaders for stepping outside their comfort zones and helping us start each day with purpose and positivity.

This week during elementary guidance, leaders reviewed the IB Learner Profile Attribute of the month, Open-Minded. Students recognized that people may think, feel, and experience things differently. The takeaway message was that is ok to be different, but we have to respect others' ideas and choices. We also learned that sometimes we have to pivot in life and be open to new experiences when there are unexpected challenges like the internet being down for the day. Students worked on a salt art craft showcasing their unique artistic ideas.
