Social Skills Lesson #4-Friendship Map
Kindergarteners made Friendship Maps!
Students learned and brainstormed qualities that make a good friend. Here are some of your student's ideas of what qualities make a good friend.
A person who:
- Shares with you
- Take turns playing games
- Makes you feel comfortable
- Kind to you
- Makes you laugh
- Likes you for YOU!
- Patient with you
- Compliments you
- Listens to you
- Helps you
- Includes others
- Celebrates differences
- Uses good Manners
- Is HAPPY for you
- Uses nice manners (Please, Thank you)
Students made a Friendship Map cooperating together, sharing and taking turns with markers, using good eye contact and kind manners, and being patient with one another. Students drew their houses on the map with roads leading to the Warren School. Students will then use the Friendship Map during indoor recesses with peers, using their Friendship Skills and toy cars.
All smiles in Room 6 after they finished coloring their Friendship Map.
Kindergarten friends in Miss Baci's class sharing markers.
Kindergarten friends in Ms. Mantos' class using kind manners and giving compliments to each other.
Breathing Exercises
Students learned Gingerbread Button Breaths
Hot Cocoa breathing is great to try during the winter. If your child doesn't like hot chocolate, try any smell they like. (hot tea with honey, a favorite food, dessert, etc.)
Penguin Deep Breathing Exercise...Gigi would like this one!☺️
