Integrity: 7th Grader - AJ Myser

AJ demonstrates integrity by doing what is right when no one has asked him to. At the end of the class, he regularly straightens the journals and places them where they belong. This small step allows me time to greet my next class. I appreciate that he is doing little things like this with no expectation of recognition.

Late Work Policy Change

Beginning in the Second Semester, AMS Late Work Policy will change!

The updated policy is below:

AMS Late Work Policy

Formative and summative assessments are important to facilitate student learning. Formative assessment occurs during the stage of learning in which students are “forming” their understanding of the concepts being taught. Summative assessment occurs at a point in the learning where the teacher is assessing and evaluating mastery of the concepts. There are a minimum of three summative assignments each grading cycle. For this reason, we have established the following late work guidelines for formative work. Any work submitted after the due date, or submitted incomplete, will be deemed late work. Late work will be accepted for a max grade of 80, if turned in prior to the summative assessment for that unit, and there will be no opportunity for redo (grade change). If there are extenuating circumstances, the teacher will conference with the student and/or parent to determine an action plan for the student.

Lunch Deliveries

In the event that you need to deliver lunch to your student, please follow the steps below:

  1. Please be sure that the lunch is clearly labeled with your student's first and last name.
  2. Upon entering AMS, please place your student's lunch in the bin assigned to your student's grade level lunch.
  3. The bins will be delivered at the start of each lunch period. Students will be responsible for getting their lunches from the bin.

Again, we request that you limit lunch deliveries when possible. Also, in order to limit distractions, we will not call students out of class to receive lunches.

Thank you for your help with this!
