Taking Care of One Another
Johnson City is a special place, not just because of our schools, but because of the incredible people who make up this community. There is something truly unique about living in a small town where people know one another, care for one another, and are always willing to step up when someone needs a helping hand. During difficult times, we are reminded of just how special this community really is.
Life brings moments of celebration and joy, but it also brings moments of heartbreak and sadness that are difficult to understand. It is during those challenging times that the strength and character of a community are truly revealed. In Johnson City, we come together, support one another, and focus on what matters most: taking care of our neighbors, friends, and families.
We may not always have the right words to say or the answers to difficult questions, but we can always offer kindness, compassion, a listening ear, or simply a shoulder to lean on. Sometimes the smallest gestures of support make the biggest difference in someone's life.
I have always believed that what makes Johnson City special is not the buildings, programs, or accomplishments, but the people. Our community has a tremendous heart, and that heart is never more evident than when one of our own is hurting.
Johnson City is more than just a town. We are a family. We celebrate together, we grieve together, and we stand beside one another through life's most difficult moments. I am proud to be part of a community that understands the importance of taking care of its own. Let us continue to look out for one another and remember that sometimes the greatest thing we can do is simply be there for someone else.

Celebrating National School Principal Month
October is National School Principal Month, a time to recognize and honor the incredible leadership of our principals. At Johnson City ISD, we are fortunate to have three outstanding leaders who work tirelessly to support our students, staff, and community.
Russell Maedgen, High School Principal
Cory Medulla, Middle School Principal
Emily Lancaster, Elementary School Principal
Each of these leaders demonstrates a deep commitment to creating a positive learning environment, guiding our students toward success, and supporting teachers in their work each day. Their dedication, vision, and passion for education make a lasting impact on the entire JCISD family.
We thank them for their hard work and leadership, and we encourage our community to join us in celebrating their contributions throughout this special month.

First responders from Johnson City and surrounding communities were recognized on the field for their dedication and service. The evening provided an opportunity for JCISD and the community to express their appreciation for the men and women who work tirelessly to keep our students, families, and community safe. We are grateful for their continued service and commitment to our community.
