Paw Print Newsletter

Message from the Principal
Dear Oak Lane Families,
This week, we’re celebrating healthy habits and kind hearts! Our Health Habits Week theme, “Life Is a Puzzle, Solve It Drug Free,” encourages students to become Healthy MVPs: Move and stay active, Value healthy eating and sleep, and Practice healthy habits every day.
Our Bullying Prevention Spirit Week, October 26–30, is another opportunity to celebrate kindness, respect, and friendship! Please check the daily themes below. For Friday’s costumes, remember: no masks, swords, fake knives, face paint, fake teeth, or inflatables.
Congratulations to our October Students of the Month for setting a wonderful example by showing their PAWS! We’re proud of the kindness, responsibility, and respect our students demonstrate each day.
As you review this week’s Paw Print, please note the upcoming music programs, school illness guidelines, and school bond referendum information. Fall picture orders are due Saturday, October 31, and our 4th and 5th grade Patriotic Music Program is November 3 at 2:00 and 6:00.
Thank you for partnering with us to help our Cougar Cubs stay healthy, feel connected, and grow!
Warmly,
Heather Bowling
Principal

🏫Person County Schools:
School Bond Referendum Information
On November 3, 2026, Person County voters will decide on a $107 million school bond referendum for proposed school construction and renovation projects.
The proposal includes building a new middle school to serve students in grades 6–8 and adapting the existing middle school facilities for elementary school use.
We encourage our families and community members to review the attached fact sheet to learn more about the proposed projects, the planning process, potential tax implications, and what the referendum would mean for Person County Schools.
