Dear Tolleson ESD families,
Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year! We are so excited to welcome back our returning families and extend a warm greeting to those joining the Tolleson Elementary School District for the first time. Our students are our greatest treasures, they inspire us every day. At Tolleson ESD, we believe all children are capable of success, no exceptions!
As we begin this new year together, we want to share a few important updates and reminders with you.
Every Day Counts!
We know that consistent attendance makes a huge difference in a child’s learning. Missing just two days a month adds up to 18 days in a year—and that’s enough to impact academic success. In Arizona, missing 10% or more of the school year is considered chronic absenteeism. Let’s work together to help your child be here and ready to learn each and every day!
New Law: Cell Phones and Personal Devices
With the passing of Arizona House Bill 2484, all school districts must now limit student cell phone use during the school day.
To support focused learning, reduce distractions, and keep students safe, students must turn off and store their phones in their backpacks during school hours and while riding the school bus. This law also outlines specific rules about emergencies, medical needs, instructional use, and how families can contact students if needed.

Monthly Early Release Days
To give our staff valuable time for training and collaboration, all schools will have one early release day each month. These days support professional learning that directly benefits your child’s classroom experience.

Meet the Teacher Night – July 28
Mark your calendar! We cannot wait to see you at Meet the Teacher Night on Monday, July 28, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. This special evening is all about making connections, building relationships, and getting ready for an amazing year ahead. We look forward to welcoming our treasures and celebrating the start of a new journey together.

Communication is key to strong family-school partnerships. That’s why we launched ParentSquare, a tool that helps us send important messages by email and text. This year, we will continue using ParentSquare to keep you updated with timely information.
