Rising Eagles Week 3: Integrity
Building Grit, Self-Control & Integrity

Dear Audubon Families,
We are excited to continue our family learning series, Rising Eagles: Building Grit, Self-Control, & Integrity. Through this series, our goal is to partner with families to help students better understand their emotions, develop perseverance, and strengthen decision-making skills.
This week our focus is INTEGRITY—choosing to do the right thing even when it is difficult or when no one is watching. When children understand how their brain helps them pause and think about their choices, they are more likely to make honest and responsible decisions. Developing integrity is an important part of social-emotional learning (SEL) and helps students grow into trustworthy and responsible leaders.
During Week 3, families will explore:
-
How our brain helps us make thoughtful and honest choices
-
The role of the Upstairs Brain (thinking brain) when making decisions
-
How staying in the Green Zone helps us make choices we can feel proud of, even when we feel nervous or tempted in the Yellow Zone
You will watch a short video and story together, complete a quick Blooket review, and participate in a simple family activity that encourages noticing and celebrating acts of honesty and integrity.
📌 Missed Weeks 1 or 2? There’s still time to complete them! Click the link below to go back and check out the earlier activities.
Earning Points for Your Family Activity Book
Students can earn a special activity book by participating in the series. To receive the book, families need to earn 30 total points.
Points can be earned by completing the weekly activities:
-
Blooket completion: 10 points **Make sure to include your first name and last initial so you get credit for completing this.
-
Family challenge submission: 10 points
By participating each week, families can easily earn enough points to receive a great family activity book focused on brain science and emotional skills. These books will help students continue practicing what they have learned throughout the series.

Integrity requires "Executive Function." When we help kids stay in the Green Zone, we make it physically easier for their brains to choose honesty over an impulsive shortcut.
