Teacher Appreciation Week is next week! Our PTO has some amazing things planned to celebrate our teachers on behalf of all parents!

Another thing that teachers love is words of appreciation. Consider sending your child's teacher an email or giving them a shout-out in the district newsletter. Click here to submit your Pfamily Kuddos for the google form on the district newsletter.

May is Brain Cancer Awareness Month, which is something that many at Murchison, and in our PFISD community, hold close to our hearts. Feel free to join us in wearing gray on Fridays in May, to show your support for all who have been affected by brain cancer.

For the Career Fair on May 9, we will have a drone flying overhead. Please do not be alarmed if you see it!

We are excited to welcome students and their families to the library for shopping during the Book Fair which will take place from Friday, May 2nd through Thursday, May 8th. For details about Book Fair, please click on the letter from Ms. Grillo & Mrs. Quinney HERE.

Please note: family events for shopping will include shopping during the PTO dance on Friday, May 2nd and after school hours on Tuesday, May 6th from 2:45-5 (no need to badge in at the front-come in through the side library doors!).

Please see the flyer below from PTO about our School Dance tonight! Please note, since this is an elementary dance, parents need to stay with their children. This is not a drop off event.

Our End of Year Awards ceremonies are at the following days/times. Every student will receive an award.

May 21:

• 9:00 - 9:45: 4th grade
• 10:00 - 10:45: 3rd grade
• 11:00 - 11:45: Kindergarten
• 12:00 - 12:45: 1st grade
• 1:00 - 1:45: 2nd grade

May 22:

• 8:00: 5th grade. 5th graders will do a 5th grade "walk" first, with the ceremony directly following in the gym.

The Special Education Department is hosting a Parent Connection Night on May 6, 2025 from 5:30-7:05 at Windermere Elementary (1101 Picadilly Rd., Pflugerville, TX 78660 - ENTER on the back side of the school on Picadilly, not the Grand Ave Pkwy entrance).

Parents of students who receive special education services will have the opportunity to attend 2 sessions on different topics from transitioning from ECSE/PK to Kindergarten, transitioning from elementary to middle school, transitioning from middle school to high school, transitioning from high school to adulthood, behavior strategies for home, communication, and Medicaid Waivers. Free pizza dinner for the entire family from 5:30-6:00 and free childcare from 6-7:05 for children ages 3 and up.
