Message from Mrs. Schneid
Dear BPE Families-
We were excited to have a full week of school last week filled with learning and making connections—where did January go?
Our MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) assessments are now complete and are giving us a great picture of the growth our students have made since fall, as well as where we will focus next.
A reminder that February conference will take place on February 19 and will be held one evening only. Conferences are scheduled by teacher or parent request, and we ask that all conferences be confirmed by Thursday, February 12.
We are also looking forward to some fun events this week, including our PTSA fundraiser “Tattoo a Teacher/Staff Member” on February 11 and our Valentine’s Day parties on February 12.
Please note there is no school on February 13 due to a Professional Development day for staff, and no school on February 16 in observance of President’s Day.
Take care and stay warm!
Warmly,
Mrs. Schneid- Principal
Mr.Carnabuci- Assistant Principal
Ms. Frimel- Assistant Principal
Additional Message from Mrs. Scheid
Dear BPE Families and Little Titans,
I want to share that beginning February 23, I will be out for knee replacement surgery. This was a very difficult decision, as there is truly no “perfect” time, but after waiting a bit too long, it is something that needs to be done so I can fully heal and return stronger.
While I am out, please know that BPE will continue to be in wonderful hands. Our incredible staff and administrative team will carry on the important work we do each day to support our students. Mr. Carnabuci will serve as the primary point of contact and will support many of the decisions and responsibilities I typically handle, along with our administrative team.
While I am out, I will be unavailable for work-related communication as I focus on healing. During this time, Mr. Carnabuci and the administrative team will be available to assist families and staff as needed. Even so, I will absolutely be keeping tabs on my Little Titans—I already know I will miss your smiles, hugs, and our day-to-day interactions more than I can say.
I plan to return before the end of the school year, and I will be working very hard during physical therapy to make that happen. I truly appreciate your support, kindness, and understanding during this time.
Thank you for being such a special school community. BPE is a remarkable place because of our students, families, and staff—and I am so grateful to be part of it.
With appreciation,
Mrs. Schneid

Parent Teacher Conference Night on Feb. 19
Parent Teacher Conference- Mark Your Calendar
This is our 2nd round of Parent Teacher Conferences. We hold 1 night for conferences on February 19.
This round is by teacher request or parent request. That means that some families will be notified by their child's classroom teacher that they do not need to schedule a conference at this time.
Conference Night is Feb. 19 (4:00- 8:00 PM) - In person
Teachers have communicated a conference request and have shared a link for families to schedule their conference if needed.
Families have been notified by the classroom teacher if a conference is not needed.
Parents/Guardians may also request a conference by reaching out to your child's teacher.
All conferences must be scheduled by Thursday, Feb. 12.
Attendance Matters
Attendance Matters
Regular school attendance plays an important role in helping children grow as learners and as confident members of our school community. Being at school each day helps students build strong learning habits, feel connected to their classmates and teachers, and experience success both academically and socially.
Families can support positive attendance by:
Establishing consistent morning and bedtime routines
Scheduling appointments outside of school hours whenever possible
Talking with your child about the importance of being present and ready to learn each day
We also encourage families to remind children that school is a safe, welcoming, and fun place to be. When students are absent, their teachers and classmates truly miss them!
Every day at school helps a child grow — academically, socially, and emotionally. Thank you for partnering with us to support strong attendance and a love of learning.
Currently we have 16% of our student body that is Chronically Absent.- Our goal is to decrease this percentage to 10% or less.
We will be reaching out in Feb. to schedule Attendance Meetings - Our goal is to work together to improve your Titan's attendance.

Recess Guidelines- Very Important to Read and Know!
Dear Guardians-
Please be sure to be familiar with these guidelines below. All students must be prepared to go outside. When we have snow and the temperature permits our students to be outside, we would love for them to play in the snow appropriately. To be allowed to play in the snow they must have all of the following:
Snow Pants, Coat/Jacket, Boots and Gloves
They DO NOT need these items to go outside, but do need them if they want to play in the snow. We have areas for the kids play in - they love it! They make snow angels, build snowmen- but they must be dressed appropriately to do so.
Next event is March 4- ZZZZs to AAAAAs: Supporting Sleep for Student Success
