We're off to a GREAT Start! We're off to a GREAT Start!

Parents, Teachers, and Students,

We had a fantastic start, and we're grateful for all you did and will continue to do, to make this year a success. While it looks like we will not be directly in the path of the first hurricane of the year, we need to remain vigilant about the impacts of storm surge and flooding that bring potential for delays or weather days to take affect. Students should bring their devices to school every day to keep them updated and bring them home every night in case an e-learning day becomes a necessity.

Parents and Guardians:

  • Please reinforce the importance of the cell phone policy with your students. Cell phones should be off and out of sight from 8:45 AM until 3:45 PM.
  • Dress code requirements and other important information can be found in the Student Handbook.
  • For all attendance needs email BLHS-Attendance@beaufort.k12.sc.us

To ensure a safe and secure environment at BCSD athletic events, all spectators and athletes entering our venues will be asked to remove hoods or face coverings that obscure one’s identity, such as balaclava-style masks. This practice, which is common at collegiate athletic events, will help us maintain safety by ensuring individuals can be easily identified if needed.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in creating a safe and welcoming atmosphere for everyone. Please reach out to District Athletic Director Dr. Carlos Cave for any questions.

WHAT IS NATIONAL FENTANYL PREVENTION AND AWARENESS DAY?

National Fentanyl Prevention and Awareness Day was established by Facing Fentanyl and affected families across the country to remember the lives lost to illicit fentanyl poisoning and to educate the public about the ongoing danger of this crisis. Observed every year on August 21st, this day serves as a nationwide call to action, to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and save lives. Illicit fentanyl is the deadliest drug threat the United States has ever faced.

This day unites families, first responders, prevention advocates, educators, elected officials, and communities in every state. Together, we share facts, honor those we've lost, and take action to protect others. Events are held nationwide, from memorials and educational forums to social media campaigns and policy discussions.

August 21 is more than a date, it's a promise to educate, prevent, and fight for a future free from fentanyl poisoning.
