Principal's Message
Dear Mustang Families,
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Under the Sea Family Dance! It was such a wonderful evening filled with laughter, music, and so many smiling faces. Seeing Maple families come together like that is always special, and it was clear the students had an absolute blast. A huge thank you goes out to our incredible PFA for organizing the event and making all the magic happen. We are so grateful for the time, creativity, and dedication they bring to our school community.
The dance also marks the kickoff of our big annual fundraiser. This year, Maple will host a Bubble Run Fun Run on April 17! Students will run laps while enjoying bubble machines and all kinds of bubbly fun along the way. The funds raised through this event go directly to supporting enrichment and community experiences for our students—things like our Halloween Carnival, Family Dance, art and science programs, TK/K PE, and our end-of-year festivals. This year we are especially excited because we are running the fundraiser ourselves, which means every dollar raised will go directly to supporting Maple students. More information will be coming soon, and we can’t wait to share the fun with you.
We also have some wonderful learning opportunities happening this week. On Monday, we are grateful for the many parents who volunteered their time to participate in Career Day, sharing their experiences and helping students imagine all the possibilities their futures may hold.
Later this week, Maple will participate in the Newbury Park ELAC meeting, which brings together ELAC families from every NP elementary school, middle school, and Newbury Park High School. These gatherings are an important opportunity to collaborate, share ideas, and strengthen support for our multilingual learners across the community.
Looking ahead, I encourage families to attend the upcoming You Belong Here Conference hosted by Student Support Services. This event is designed to bring families together for learning, connection, and community-building—and it will even feature a Mathlete competition for students! Please see the flyers below for details about this and many other upcoming events.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support of Maple. The involvement, generosity, and enthusiasm of our families help make this school such a joyful place for students to learn and grow.
With Mustang Pride,
Meghann O’Weger
Principal, Maple Elementary

Donation Matching
Does Your Company Match Donations?
Double the impact of your gift to Maple PFA!
Many companies offer matching gift programs, where they will match your donation dollar-for-dollar, turning your $50 into $100 for Maple students
How it works:
1. Donate to Maple PFA (membership, or general donation)
2. Submit a match request through your employer’s HR portal
3. Your company sends an additional donation — at no cost to you!
Local companies that offer matching gifts include:
• Amgen
• Bank of America
• Disney
• Kaiser Permanente
• Qualcomm
• Target
• Wells Fargo
(and many more — check with your HR department!)
Your matched donation helps fund PE, Art, Music, Field Trips, Talent Show, and more!
