School Highlights Around the District -
You can't ESCAPE the fun at Abigail Adams Middle School!
Oh no! 6th Grade AAMS students went to the music room only to find it was a CRIME SCENE! Then, they discovered an email and video message from Principal Meehan’s evil twin, Mr. Shmeehan. He trapped their ukuleles and kidnapped their classroom mascot, Kiwi the Dinosaur. Students worked together in teams to complete musical puzzles to unlock the clues Mr. Shmeehan left to free their ukuleles and find Kiwi with the help of their music teacher, Ms. Colleen McDonough (who may have had the most fun of all designing this very fun learning experience for her students). Fortunately, thanks to the hard work of the students, the ukes were freed, Kiwi was recovered safely, and Mr. Shmeehan was apprehended. He says he could’ve gotten away with it too, if it weren't for those meddling kids.
Learning SO GOOD you can taste it at Seach Elementary School!
The first grade team at Seach completed a science experiment with marshmallow peeps. The students made predictions about chemical reactions that would change the color of marshmallow peeps in a water solution and then in a water, vinegar and baking soda solution. The students went back to record their observations in their writing journals. Nice work, team!
ICYMI: Learning SO GOOD you can taste it at Weymouth High School!
Weymouth High School culinary students welcomed a star instructor, Wahlburgers co-owner Paul Wahlberg, and learned about some of the most important traits to have for a successful career in the restaurant industry. Full story here

Weymouth School Community & Marathon Monday
Cheer On & Support Our School Community Runners!
WHS Alumni: Adrienne Koufos
BIB# 26309
Adrienne is running the 126th Boston Marathon to raise money for The Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women’s Cancer Center in clinical affiliation with South Shore Hospital, in memory of the late beloved Debe Garden an amazing friend, mother, and wife who was diagnosed with cancer for the first time at 42. Debbie bravely faced several battles with cancer before passing away at the young age of 48. Debbie’s beautiful positivity and optimism are Adrienne's motivation to run and raise funds for an amazing cause. You can support Adrienne's marathon pledge, and cancer research for Dana Farber at South Shore hospital here.
WHS Alumni: Julie Tevenan
BIB# 13738
Julie Tevenan (WHS class of 2012), is running the Boston Marathon this April. She ran cross country, indoor and outdoor track for Coach Mike Miller. This will be her third marathon. She ran the BayState Marathon in October 2019 and qualified for Boston which she ran in October 2021 (delayed due the pandemic).
Julie's family will be cheering her one, and is so proud of all her hard work. They say it wouldn't be possible without the many friends and teammates she made over the years - beginning at WHS.
AAMS Parent: Steve Sweeney
BIB# 26302
Steve is the proud father of a sixth grader at Abigail Adams and a third grader at Academy Ave. He has been a runner since his high school days, when he ran on the cross country team. This will be Steve's first Boston Marathon, but he has run five marathons, including Chicago and New York City. For the Boston Marathon, Steve is running with Team South Shore Health to raise money for their Cancer Care Center. You can read about his fundraising efforts here:

My love for running started when I was young as part of a local track club. I went on to run track in high school for Weymouth High School and cross country for Saint Anselm’s College. I have always dreamed of running the Boston Marathon and now in just a few short weeks I am so excited to be running as a member of Team End Alz.
