Bearcat Blast • aledoisd.org • April 30, 2026
Deadline May 1! Register for 26-27 School Year Now!
Being All in Aledo isn’t just a commitment - it’s a way of life
At Aledo ISD, we are Growing Greatness by creating exceptional experiences for our students to find what they love! We don’t just educate - we empower every Bearcat to discover their unique path and thrive. We're ready to continue that journey together next year, and registration for the 2026-2027 school year is now open! Registration is an online process; click the link below for more information.
We urge you to get your registration complete as soon as possible because it helps us with staffing and planning for next school year!
Registering NOW helps ensure that your child’s spot at their zoned school is guaranteed since we are currently working on staffing. Your registration now also helps ensure your child’s course selections for middle and high school are still valid and helps secure elementary teacher assignments. Our counselors and admin teams are currently working on scheduling for next year.
Because of this, we ask that you register your student by Friday, May 1!
Does your student want to keep their district-issued Chromebook during the summer? READ BELOW!
This information is for incoming 7th- through 12th-grade students only! Incoming 6th graders will have opportunities to get their district-issued device later in the summer; stay tuned for more information!
We will continue to have a Device Protection Plan (DPP) that students must pay for in order to check out a district-issued Chromebook for the school year. DPP charges will be paid through MySchoolBucks; you will see an option in the Store portion of MySchoolBucks to pay the 2026-2027 Device Protection Program fee beginning on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.
Just as we did last year, if you pay for the DPP for the 2026-2027 school year by the end of the day on Sunday, May 10, 2026, your student may keep their district-issued Chromebook over the summer and keep that same Chromebook for the 2026-2027 school year. Please note that all filtering and restrictions on our district-issued Chromebooks will stay in place over the summer, even if you take the Chromebook out of district.
The DPP is $27, and this covers unlimited breakage on the Chromebook; the charger is not covered.
Bearcat News Update
Only in Aledo | Brittany Blackett, School Lunch Hero
Only in Aledo, small acts of care create a big impact.
Growing Greatness means seeing a need and stepping up to make a difference. McKinney Elementary Cafeteria Manager Brittany Blackett did just that by creating visual lunch menus to support students with special needs who benefit from extra guidance when making their meal choices.
After noticing students becoming frustrated during menu selection, Brittany spent weeks photographing cafeteria meals and building a visual menu binder on her own time. Today, her work is creating Exceptional Experiences for students not only at McKinney but also across every elementary campus in our district.
In celebration of School Lunch Hero Day, we are proud to recognize Brittany and all of our incredible Child Nutrition Staff who are All in Aledo each and every day. Thank you for the care, creativity and heart you bring to Serving Up Greatness!
