Greetings from the Nest! It has been a busy month here at Gainesville. Congratulations to our Robotics E team for winning the Virginia Tech CRO Down competition and being the first GHS team to bring home a Tournament Champion trophy! They move on to the State Championship on March 14-15. Our C team was also recognized for their efforts and awarded the Judges Award. FBLA members have also been preparing and competing for the Germanna Regional Leadership Conference. Congratulations to all of the students who placed in their respective events.
Finally, we wish the best of luck to our student athletes participating in regional and state tournaments! We are excited to support our dedicated basketball players and track athletes Let's rally behind them as they proudly represent GHS. Go Cardinals!
Information for all Students and Parents
March Attendance Challenge
With spring just around the corner and (hopefully!) the winter weather behind us, we’re excited to kick off our March Attendance Challenge at Gainesville High School!
Consistent attendance plays a huge role in student success. Every class period matters and being present and on time helps students stay on track academically, build positive habits, and make the most of every learning opportunity.
Our March Goal: Students will aim for zero unexcused absences and zero unexcused tardies for the entire month of March.
The Reward: Students who meet this goal will receive a special certificate granting them access to our Snack Bar Lounge, where they’ll be able to choose from a variety of tasty treats during their lunch period. It’s our way of celebrating their commitment and responsibility!
Parent(s)/Guardian(s), we truly appreciate your continued partnership and support in helping your student arrive at school on time and ready to learn each day. Together, we can make March a month of strong attendance and even stronger success!
Let’s make it a great month at Gainesville High School!
Khan Academy
We are about 6 weeks away from Junior SAT School Day (April 15). All juniors have access to SAT preparation via Khan Academy, which can be accessed via PWCS Portal. Students and families should review their student’s PSAT score report from October to see the skill areas in which their student needs support. From there, they can focus their SAT prep on those skills. More information on SAT School Day is forthcoming!
Prom Information
The Junior/Senior Prom, themed “A Night in the Bayou,” will be held at Brentsville Hall on April 25 from 7–10 p.m.
Prom Guest Forms are now available in the Main Office, the Library Circulation Desk, and outside Mrs. Campbell’s room (1110). Any GHS student planning to bring an outside guest or an underclassman guest must complete and return the appropriate form to Mrs. Campbell in Room 1110 no later than Friday, March 13 at 2:15 p.m.
No late forms will be accepted due to venue deadlines. If you have questions, please see Mrs. Campbell.
Let’s get ready for a magical Night in the Bayou!

Parents should check their student’s requests in ParentVUE under Course Requests. Changes can be made via the change form on the Counseling Canvas page until May 8.
