Indiana PBIS:
I am directly working with and supporting the following school buildings within the Indiana School District:
Horace Mann EL
Ben Franklin EL
Eisenhower EL
Indiana JH
Indiana HS
Recognition by the PaPBIS Network 2021-2022 School Year:
The following Indiana school buildings received Recognition for implementing Tier 1 with fidelity at the PA PBIS Implementers Forum this year for their hard work and dedication to implementing with fidelity and continuing to grow and expand their programs:
Horace Mann El
Eisenhower EL
Ben Franklin EL
The Indiana JHS is progressing well with their PBIS program this year and had a kickoff assembly on Oct 19th. This great team is motivated to grow the program and continue to improve their school. We will continue to work together to further grow and develop this program.
The Indiana SHS is in their early stages of developing their PBIS program.
- I set up a visit to a Student Summit where the team was able to meet and ask questions about their concerns, with coaches from other HS’s who have PBIS programs that are successfully established and running.
- I have coordinated a zoom meeting with the admin at Butler HS that will take place later this month along with a follow up on site visit at Butler HS. The Butler HS has an attendance of 2,000 students and is successfully implementing PBIS with fidelity, so they will be a great model HS for the Indiana HS team to observe and ask questions relating to their concerns.
SWIS:
I am the SWIS Facilitator for schools within IU 28 who uses SWIS for tracking. I have been supporting all of the Indiana School Buildings with adding people and troubleshooting any problems that arise.
I encourage all districts to use SWIS for their behavior data collection. SWIS is a great tool that allows teams to easily, drill down to the core of the behavior problems. Thus allowing them to see exactly the where, when, who, and the why the behaviors that are occurring so that they can come up with a precise problem statement so that the core team can develop an action plan to target and reduce that behavior.
Armstrong School District:
Four additional Armstrong school buildings have joined my network of teams and have been added to the PBIS network. I am supporting them in their journey of implementing with fidelity so that they can receive recognition on the PaPBIS Network.
I am currently working with and providing support to the following Armstrong school buildings:
- Dayton EL
- Shannock Valley EL
- West Hills Primary
- West Hills Intermediate
- Elderton EL
- Lenape EL
The following schools received Recognition for implementing Tier 1 with fidelity at the PA PBIS Implementers Forum this year for their hard work and dedication to implementing with fidelity:
- Dayton EL
- Shannock Valley EL
PBIS Networking Sessions:
Myself along with Mariha Shields have started and facilitated Networking Sessions for our PBIS teams. We have hosted two sessions to date this year where we provided the teams with important updates within the system, information to help each team further develop and grow their programs, and time to network and learn new strategies with other school teams
PBIS Tier 2
I am currently working on the course work to become a PBIS Tier 2 Facilitator and trainer and will be working with at least two of the above school buildings as they work on building and implement their Tier 2 programs. This includes, but is not limited to, making sure the schools have an appropriate screening tool in place and along with a number of Tier 2 instruments that will be used to help students.
Check and Connect:
I have also received the training in Check and Connect and will be training some of our schools later this year.
Build Fly Code (Drone program):
I am providing a Build Fly Code training in Dec. 2022 in a program where teachers can introduce students to Drones. They start with building the drones, proceeded by flying them and additionally learning how to program them using computer coding.
