LEWIS ELEMENTARY NEWS
November 25th
Letter from the principal
Dear Lewis Community,
As the holiday season gets closer we begin to think about the needs of others in our community. We have many within our own school community that appreciate the support and caring of others during the holiday season. The “Giving Snowman” will appear in the school office, with a variety of options for giving. Please feel free to stop by, pick out a tag, and support someone in need. The Giving Snowman will be up from November 24th-December 15th, with gifts being delivered prior to winter break. This is a wonderful opportunity for your children to be involved in giving to others and recognizing that there are others in our community that are in need of some holiday cheer.
Thanks for your support,
Deanne Froehlich
Principal
"DID YOU KNOW?"
EVERY SCHOOL DAY COUNTS. “Did you know?” Please let your child know that school is their job. Their job of coming to school ready to learn is just as important as the teacher’s job or the principal’s job. We all have different jobs to make our schools work!

TAG Update
As we prepare for Conferences this month, questions you might ask your student’s teacher include:
What rate and level is my student at?
How are you meeting the needs of my student?
TAG services are provided by the classroom teacher in the form of instructional strategies curated by the teacher to meet your students needs. The first step in understanding what is happening in your student’s classroom is to check in with the teacher.

Bottle drop fundraiser - 20% match
Thank you to all participating families and Otto`s Sausage Kitchen & Meat Market on Woodstock for donating your cans and bottles to Lewis every Thursday.
Since summer, we have collected close to $2000 with our Bottledrop fundraiser - way to go!
Over the next 2 weeks, Bottledrop is matching 20% of all nonprofit collections for their annual holiday promotion.
We are always happy to see all those blue bags piled up by the main entrance, and we will be even more excited if you bring your cans and bottles between now and December 2nd.
If the weekly bag drop-off at school is not convenient for you, you can return your bag on your own schedule at any drop-off location ( Safeway, New Seasons, Fred Meyer, and so on).
As long as you use the provided blue bags and scan the barcode, those funds will go to Lewis Elementary. The blue bags are stored in the Free Little Library right by the office entry.
Once again, thank you for your support!

Report Cards
Viewing Report Cards
At the beginning of this academic year, the district set all parents/guardians to paperless report cards. We sent home all students with paper report cards this quarter but going forward we are going to go by parent/guardian preference. You will find instructions for how to view your student's report cards moving forward HERE.
If you would like to get a paper report card after this quarter, the same instructions have directions on how to NOT be paperless.
