Rincon Community News #28

Principal Weekly Message
February 22, 2026
Greetings Rincon Community,
As we approach the final week of Trimester 2, which ends on February 27th, I want to remind you that there's still time for students to submit assignments, retake tests, and reach out to teachers. This is a crucial time to support our scholars in meeting their goals, and we believe they can achieve more than they think possible.
This week is particularly important as teachers will begin calculating final grades for Trimester 2 on Friday, February 28th. Report Cards will be mailed home on Friday, March 7th. We encourage you to review your students’ progress during this trimester and discuss any areas that may need attention.
In March, we will be hosting our Second Trimester Principal Breakfast Awards, where we eagerly look forward to celebrating all our scholars for their bronze, silver, and gold achievements. It’s a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge their hard work and dedication.
As we transition into Trimester 3, we want to emphasize the importance of monitoring academic performance, especially for our 8th grade families. According to EUSD policy, 8th graders must maintain a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0 or higher to participate in the end-of-year 8th Grade Promotion ceremony. Your involvement is key to their success!
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Let’s finish this trimester strong
Together, we can make this a fantastic year for our students! Together we are better in setting up our Bulldogs up to B.A.R.K (Believe, Achieve, Respect, and Kindness) for success!
With gratitude,
Principal Meglich

Being on Time Matters!
At Rincon, every school day is an opportunity to learn and grow. Our district-wide agreement is that all students are expected to be in class during designated times so they don’t miss valuable instruction.
School begins promptly at 8:00 a.m.
We ask families to help ensure students arrive on time every day.
Consistent attendance helps students feel prepared, connected, and successful.
Every day counts—and every minute matters!
Rincon Middle School Tardy Policy
Being on time helps students begin the day prepared and ready to learn. School starts at 8:00am, and students must be inside their classroom when the tardy bell rings. Gates open at 7:40am to allow students time to arrive and settle in.
Students who arrive late must check in at the attendance office for a pass and give a reason for their tardy.
For every 3 first-period tardies in a week (Mon–Fri, including short weeks), students will follow the progressive discipline plan.
Families may be asked to meet with the School Attendance Review Team (SART) if tardies become frequent, so we can create a support plan together.
Our focus is on supporting students and families to build strong routines—because every minute in class matters
