Then entire school focused on reading more this week during Read Across America Week. Students and staff that were caught reading were entered into a drawing for prizes that were awarded today. We also began and ended our week with twenty minutes of silent reading for the whole school. Does your family read together? If not, try to set aside some time before bedtime each evening to simply read. Books are fun and can take you anywhere!
We are also extremely proud of our scholastic bowl team and 7th grade volleyball team. The scholastic bowl team won the county championship. The 7th grade volleyball team won the regional championship. We will have a pep assembly for these teams on Monday morning. Students in grades 5-8 are invited to join the fan bus on Monday to cheer on the volleyball team at sectionals in Nokomis. These forms need to be returned first thing on Monday morning. We are definitely amping up the Patriot pride!
