Academy Announcements
Dear Academy Families and Friends,
Safety is a top priority. Thanks for adhering to the street and posted signage around the building.
Bus Evacuation went great with Officer Flanagan and our safety committee is working hard to make sure Academy is a safe community for all. Weather continues to change so please make sure students come dressed for going outside.
Here's a few more things to think about:
- Grade 5 will be going to WHS on October 2 on a field trip to the Planetarium. Permission slips need to be be returned asap.
- The New England Wildlife Center's Jack Banagis met with Grade 5 on Friday with Falco, the hawk (see picture below)
- CORI checks and field trips-don't wait...get them in now at the Family Center at the Adams Building. They are free and need to be renewed every 3 years if you want to volunteer or go on a field trip.
- Neighborhood and & side street parking: thank you again for following the traffic signs. I was on Candia and Sutton on Friday and the roads looked great. We will continue to assess and monitor those streets as well as Gilbert and Broad St. Place to make sure the walkways and roads are safe.
- Chromebook care: Please be sure to remind your children about taking good care of their devices. As part of the 1:1 agreement, devices can be costly and fall on families to replace if broken.
- Fall assessments are wrapping up. We will be using the data to help guide and inform instruction.
- Academy Ambassadors Applications are out for 4th and 5th grade students to apply. Forms need to be completed and returned by Wed, October 2, 2024.
- Reminder: during arrival and dismissal times, please do not park or stand on the driveway island area. Buses are the only vehicles that should be accessing or driving around the circle.
- There is still time for families to sign up for the Weymouth Food Pantry's Weekend Backpack program for food assistance. Click here for more info.
Have a great rest of your weekend. We look forward to seeing you bright and early tomorrow!

Attendance and Being on Time
Reminder: The school day starts at First Bell (8:50AM) and the late bell rings at 9:05 AM. Please make every effort to have your child present and on time every day! The end of the day bell rings at 3:15 PM.
Students should be on time every day. If your child is late, please do not drop them off and leave. They need to be checked in to the office. There is a QR code that parents need to scan the late child enters the building.
