Message from the Principal
Hello Parents, Families, and Community Members,
I’d like to start by giving a huge thank you to everyone who joined us on our first field trip, joined us during fall fest or contributed treats for trick-or-treat street! We truly couldn’t provide these fun learning experiences without your support. It was also wonderful seeing so many of you at conferences. Thank you for partnering with us to strengthen the connection between home and school. Please be sure to mark your calendars for our Winter Program on Friday, December 18th. We can’t wait to celebrate with you.

School Reminders
Book Bags
Classrooms have started to visit the school’s library once a week to check out a book. Parents should return both the book and the bag so students can receive a new book each week. This is a great way to get children excited about reading and a good way to get them used to being responsible and returning the book weekly.
Inclement Weather- Late Start
As we get into the colder, snowy months, the district may call for a “Late Start.” If a late start is decided, parents will receive an automated announcement from WPS.
If a late start day is called for the district, child care classrooms will open at 8:15.
There will be no school for students in the morning half day preschool program and a normal school day for students in the afternoon half day preschool program.
Late Start Schedule:
Child Care: 8:15-5:00
AM Half Day: No School
PM Half Day: 11:40-2:40
Attendance
Although some absences are unavoidable, regular attendance helps our youngest learners build great habits for the future! Preschool is the perfect time to start. While we want children at school as often as possible, we also want to keep our community healthy. Please keep your child home if they show any cold or flu-like symptoms, including fever, diarrhea, or vomiting.
Students must be completely symptom-free without the use of fever-reducing or other medications for at least 24 hours before returning. To help you decide when to keep your little one home, please read our How Sick is Too Sick? Guidelines.
As a fun bonus, students who achieve 95% attendance or higher each month will receive a small token of appreciation from the school

- Please drive slowly in the parking lot.
- Please hold your children’s hands while in the parking lot.
- All people (parents, students, visitors) coming and going from school must cross the parking lot at the crosswalks.
- All children must be in car seats and buckled into seat belts before leaving the parking lot. This is a state law and is not optional. Please do not allow them to stand up in the back seat of cars or standing with their heads out the windows.
- Please be respectful of our neighbors. We ask that you please refrain from turning around in their driveways and parking in private property, places that would block any driveways or that are not marked as parking places.
- Please drive carefully and slowly while in the neighborhood.
- There are assigned handicapped parking spots are in the parking lot, these are for cars that have handicapped plates or decals only. Please observe this parking rule. You can be ticketed for parking in handicapped spots without a handicapped decal or placard.
Food For Thought is a 100% volunteer-run organization founded to eliminate the weekend childhood hunger gap. They pack and deliver "PowerSacks" (weekend food bags) to over 75 schools in the Denver area so students who rely on free or reduced school lunches have sustainable food through Saturday and Sunday.
At Gregory Hill, we receive bi-weekly deliveries of these PowerSacks. We place the black distribution bins in the front corridor of the school, and families are welcome to take as many bags as they need.
