Virtual Check-in with School Counselor
Our School Counselor is an excellent resource for strategies and support to help your student succeed! Ms. Rowan-Millan is available for confidential, 15-minute virtual check-ins to help students with everything from learning strategies and staying on pace with schoolwork to navigating personal struggles. Please remember that for specific academic questions like quiz retakes, tutoring, or assignment details, the first point of contact should always be the student's teacher/facilitator. Our counselor's goal is to focus on the support and strategies needed for overall well-being and academic habits, not individual grades or assignments. While slots are set for 15 minutes, please feel free to request more time if you feel your student needs a longer session—we encourage you to take advantage of this valuable resource. Reach out to the school office today to schedule a check-in for your student! Please click here to schedule an appointment Counselor Schedule

To High School Parents
Hello Parents of High Schoolers!
After fall break, I will be starting to conduct the required 1:1 meetings with all QCVA high school students starting with Seniors first to discuss future planning based on a specific set of questions. Your students will be receiving an email from me within the weeks to follow informing them of scheduling a virtual meeting with the counselor.
In the meetings, we will discuss goals your child has for this school year and for their future. Additionally, we will talk about the steps and benefits in planning ahead, as well as any possible challenges reaching these goals. The responses to these questions will be recorded in a Google Form. Once I submit the form with the individual student's responses, an email will automatically be sent directly to that student's parent(s).
When you receive the email with your student's responses, please review it with them, then complete and submit the attached form titled "QCVA College/Career Readiness Parent Verification Form" so that I know you have received this information. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Thank you!

Improve Your Grade
Kinder to Grade 6: Students may request retakes for Assess-Its, Summary/Reflection, or Quizzes from their facilitator through the SchoolsPLP chat. Students are encouraged to attend tutoring when needed.
Grades 7 to 12: Quizzes and Unit Tests are used throughout the Edgenuity curriculum to assess student learning. Students must score 70% or higher on the assessments to progress in the course. The first and second attempts of a quiz or Unit Test can be taken without the assistance of a facilitator. If a student does not meet the 70% threshold within the first two attempts, they will be required to submit a copy of their lesson notes to their facilitator before receiving a third attempt. Students will need to attend tutoring with their subject area facilitator before receiving a fourth attempt on an assessment.
