✨ Walkathon Upate ✨

A huge THANK YOU to our amazing school community and parish for your enthusiastic participation and support of this year’s Walkathon! Together, we raised a net total of almost $26,000!

We’re so grateful to everyone who sponsored, donated, volunteered, and helped make this event such a wonderful success. Your generosity and school spirit really do make a difference!

Fall Weather

As we return to fall weather, please remember to send your child with weather-appropriate clothing. As is outlined in our Parent Handbook, the teachers at St. Michael's are committed to ensuring the best learning environment for your children. Children learn best when they are relaxed, focused, and happy and to attain this, they need time for unstructured play in the fresh air.

Therefore, we ask that parents ensure all students come to school dressed for the weather. We will endeavour to take the children outside everyday.

Further to this, the dark, wet mornings mean more dangerous driving conditions. Please exercise caution in the parking lot and surrounding streets.

Please:

  • Reduce your speed when entering and exiting the parking lot.
  • Ensure you and your children cross the drive-through at designated crossing points.
  • Park ONLY in designated spots and exercise extreme caution when backing into and out of spaces.
  • DO NOT PARK in our drop-off zone on Holmes Street. This area is for drop-off only.
  • DO NOT STOP before the "No Stopping" sign on Holmes - this blocks the view of the crosswalk.

Please show kindness and respect to our crossing guards and supervisors. They are working to help ensure your child's safety.

Thank you for your attention to these important matters.

Mrs. Grant

We truly appreciate everyone’s support of literacy at our school and look forward to seeing you again at our next Book Fair in February!

Picture Retake Day

Our picture retake day is October 27th for those were absent on picture day or would like another portrait. Please note, students must bring their original proofs with them on October 27th if they wish to have a retake. Please indicate the reason you wish to have a retake done on your original proof.

Harvest Festival

On Thursday, October 30th, at 2 PM, each class will perform a song at our annual Harvest Festival in the gym. Students are encouraged to wear harvest-themed costumes, such as scarecrows, farmers, pumpkins, or autumn colors like orange, black, purple, and brown. Please remember to bring a generous donation of non-perishable food items to help support those in need in our parish community and share the harvest with others!

Halloween Candy

We will once again be collecting Halloween candy in support of our Catholic Ministries in Vancouver. We send and distribute these candy gifts to remind the residents of the Downtown Eastside that they are cared for and loved. The candy bags made up from these donations are a means to engage in conversation with those most vulnerable in our city and allow the opportunity for volunteers to offer words of hope, prayer, and guidance.

Boxes will be placed below the stairs outside the office and students are encouraged to bring in some of their Halloween treats to share with others.

Hail, Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
