November is a good time to think about the things we’re grateful for, and there is a lot to be grateful for at Pinewood!

I’m grateful for our students, who bring curiosity, laughter, and plenty of personality to our school each day. I’m grateful for our families, who partner with us and support their children’s learning and growth. And I’m incredibly grateful for our staff, who work hard every day to make sure our students feel connected, challenged, and cared for.

I’m also grateful for the opportunities we have to come together as a school community! In November, we look forward to Family Library Night, with fun activities hosted by Ms. Connelly, our art teacher, and Ms. Bober, our library media specialist. We also have Turkey Bingo, hosted by our wonderful PTA!

Pinewood is a special place because of the people who make it what it is. Thank you for being part of our community and for helping our students learn, grow, and Think Like a PANDA. Wishing you and your family a wonderful November!

It's the time of year when we come together to raise funds for one of Mounds View's most valuable organizations. The Ralph Reeder Food Shelf is an important resource in our community, and their impact is especially great right here at Pinewood. Stretch your dollars by giving directly to the food shelf, where more can be purchased for less, and where new and increased donations will be matched up to $200,000! Thank you to everyone who supported our PANDATHON fundraiser! Together, we surpassed our goal and raised $23,446 - making this our most successful Pandathon! We appreciate the generosity & support of our Pinewood families and community. Thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, and helped make this fundraiser such a success!

All students celebrated with Field Day on Oct. 9th. Last week, the 5th Graders, our Top Grade, enjoyed an exciting Reptile Experience and our top class, and Team Goede (4th), were served a Fancy Lunch by Mrs. Christiansen & Mr. Wade!

UPCOMING PTA EVENT: TURKEY BINGO ON NOV. 20th!

Join us for our annual Turkey BINGO on Friday, Nov. 20th in the Pinewood Cafeteria! Doors open at 5pm! Boards are $1 each and coveralls are $2. Prizes include turkeys, hams, and NEW this year — whole pies! Snacks & pizza will be available for purchase during the event.

Join the Mound View Schools Education Foundation for its annual Partnering for Education luncheon on November 13, from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.

This fall’s special guests are Peter Mogck and Matt Frakes, Mounds View grads (‘04) and co-owners of Paddle North. Learn more about the Foundation’s unique partnership with the District and hear from these inspirational alumni while enjoying a light lunch catered by Kowalski’s.
