Literacy: central idea, synthesizing stories, plot/story structure, grammar skill: prefix, suffix, capitalization, punctuation, error analysis of sentences.

Math: time, clocks, measurement, metric units, inverse relationships, measurement using number lines and various non-standard units (centimeter cubes, color tiles, cuisenaire rods, etc.)

Inquiry & Innovation: organisms and environments, food chains, life cycles, butterfly project.

The time has come!! 2nd grade will be going to Legoland on Tuesday, April 9th from 10:30am-1:30pm. Each homeroom class will be allowed 2 chaperones. Chaperones will be in charge of about 6-7 students, including your own child. Chaperones must be VOLY approved and provide their own transportation.

Please fill out this form if you are interested by April 1st at 3pm. Our office manager will draw names anonymously for the field trip. Let us know if you have any questions.

Permission slips will be sent home this week, so keep an eye on your Ocelot's red folder. All permission slips must be signed and returned by April 5th. A student may not join us on the field trip without a permission slip signed by a parent or guardian. Reach out to your Ocelot's homeroom Teacher if you have any questions!

National Crayon Day is March 31. Since this is on a Sunday, we will be celebrating on April 1.
