ROCK CONNECTION
Strasburg Elementary Newsletter
January 16, 2026
Dear Strasburg Elementary Tribe,
Welcome back! It has been wonderful to see our students and staff return to school with so much energy and excitement after the break. The second half of the year is always a special time as students continue to grow academically and socially, and we are looking forward to many opportunities to come together as a school community. We’re excited to welcome families to Family Fitness Night on Wednesday, January 21st, Reading Glow and Grow Night on Wednesday, January 28th, and our 1st and 2nd Grade Academic Showcase on Wednesday, February 11th. These events highlight the hard work of our students and the strong partnerships we share with our families. Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to a great start to the new year together!
Four Houses One Tribe
Did you know you can help your House rise to the top just by showing up?
Every time you attend an after-school event, you can earn a point for your house! Wear your house shirt and earn two points for your house! Your participation not only supports your classmates and school but also brings your House one step closer to victory. Check the school calendar for upcoming events and make your contribution count. Let’s see which House will take the lead this term!
Homework Club
Students 1st - 5th can stay after school until 5:00 PM for extra homework help on Wednesdays. Homework Club location will be posted on Dojo.
Parents must signup each week for your child to attend.

The Importance of Arriving on Time
We want to remind families how important it is for students to arrive at school on time each day.
When students are late, they miss important learning time, classroom routines, and opportunities to connect with their peers.
Starting the day on time helps students feel prepared, confident, and ready to learn.
Thank you for your partnership in helping all of our students have a strong start to their school day!
Spelling Bee Buzz: Grades 3–5
We are excited to kick off our annual Spelling Bee for students in 3rd–5th grade! Classroom spelling bees will take place on Friday, January 23rd, and the top 10 spellers from each grade level will advance to our building-wide Spelling Bee on Friday, February 13th.
From there, the top 3 spellers at the building level will move on to represent our school at the Regional Spelling Bee, which we are proud to host on Thursday, March 12th, competing against students from local schools.
We are looking forward to celebrating students’ hard work, perseverance, and love of words as the excitement builds over the coming weeks. Good luck to all of our spellers. We can’t wait to cheer you on!
