Hello West Canyon Families!

Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year! I’m Mrs. White, your school counselor, and I’m thrilled to be part of your child’s journey this year. My role is to support students in building strong friendships, solving problems, managing emotions, and setting goals for success.

I work with students through classroom lessons, small groups, and one-on-one support — always in partnership with you and our amazing teachers.

I’m excited to share that we now have a Counseling Department webpage (linked below) where you can learn more about the programs, resources, and events happening here at West Canyon.

This year, we’re using Zones of Regulation school-wide to help students recognize and communicate their emotions. This approach not only increases self-awareness but also empowers students to advocate for themselves when they need support. Our goal is for every student to leave West Canyon with at least three practical tools they can use independently to manage strong emotions. This will help create a safer, more engaged, and supportive school climate for all.

We are looking forward to working alongside each family to support your child and their emotional well-being.

Students are welcome to meet with me briefly during the school day, but teacher approval is required first. We do our best to protect valuable class time, so any visits are scheduled with learning in mind.
