Complete the Survey on High Schools Configuration
If you have not already, please complete a short online survey on the configuration of West Bend East and West High Schools by February 16.
The survey is part of the West Bend School District's engagement process to capture various perspectives on examining whether the school district has one or two high schools in the future. No decision has been made at this time. The district is committed to a process that will gather community input before moving forward with any recommendations or decisions.
Tonight, Wednesday, February 11, attend the Community Conversation meeting to hear more about high school configuration. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the West High School Cafeteria. (Enter the high schools building on the West side by the fieldhouse and pool.)
Students Have a Day Off on February 16
On Monday, February 16, students have the day off from school and the staff will have a professional development and work day.
Free Screening of Documentary on Youth Resilience
The West Bend High Schools Youth Impact Club is hosting a free documentary screening of SHIFT: Do What Moves You, on Thursday, February 26 at 6:00 p.m. in the West Bend High Schools Silver Lining Arts Center (auditorium).
This is an inspiring documentary about real teens who faced tough mental health challenges and found ways to feel better by doing what they love. They were able to "shift" from stress and struggle to hope, strength, and resilience by following their passions. This is a free family-friendly event. Review a trailer for the documentary.
Check Out Early Learning Facilities at Open House
The West Bend School District Early Learning Program and its community partners are hosting an Open House for the 4K program on Thursday, March 19, 4:30-6 p.m. If your child will be attending one of the 4K facilities, plan on attending so they can get a look at their classroom and more.
Please tell any other families who may be interested in the West Bend School District Early Learning Program to come check out the sites. Go to the Early Learning Program website for all the locations and enrollment details.

Construction Update
All Construction Borrowing Completed
The West Bend School District has completed borrowing the $106.25 million for all projects related to the facilities referendum approved by the district voters in November 2024.
Leading up to the referendum vote, the West Bend School District provided an estimated “total cost” of the referendum, which included potential interest paid on funds borrowed, and placed the “total cost” at $165.45 million. Now that favorable interest rates have been locked in, a cost avoidance of $10.7 million, or an 18 percent reduction in interest from the “total cost” projection. Read more about the district’s favorable interest rates.

A team of 13 students, 11 from Badger and two from Silverbrook, recently competed at the Milwaukee Chapter Mathcounts competition at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Mathcounts is a nationwide math competition for middle school students.
The team competed against more than 200 other students from Southeast Wisconsin, finishing fifth and just missing out on advancing to the state competition. The highest-placing individual was Badger 8th grader Evan Tauben, who took 29th place.
Bus Driver Wins Distinguished Service Award
Bill Knight, a GoRiteway bus driver for the West Bend School District, was awarded the Wisconsin Athletic Directors Association Distinguished Service Award. The award is given to a person who is recognized in the school and community as a supportive leader who assists in maintaining athletics as an integral part of the total educational program.
Bill has become a legend among the West Bend High Schools athletic teams in four short years. Every team requests Bill as their bus driver, because not only does he transport the student-athletes to and from their competitions safely, but he also attends every event and cheers on and encourages the student-athletes. He also attends athletic events when he isn’t driving, and even began officiating high school volleyball matches.
We are happy to announce this award at this time because February 9-13 marks Wisconsin Bus Driver Appreciation Week!
