November 2026
A Message from the Mayor
As we move through the autumn season and prepare to welcome the holidays, I am reminded of just how much we have to be thankful for here in the Village of Hilton.
First and foremost, I want to express my sincere gratitude to our Village of Hilton employees. Every day, often behind the scenes, these dedicated professionals work tirelessly to provide essential services, maintain our infrastructure, keep our community safe, and ensure that Village operations run smoothly. Their commitment to public service makes Hilton a better place to live, work, and visit.
I am equally thankful for our local businesses, which are the backbone of our community. From family-owned shops and restaurants to service providers and employers, our business community brings vitality, opportunity, and character to our village. Their investment in Hilton helps strengthen our local economy and enriches the quality of life we all enjoy.
We are also fortunate to benefit from outstanding partnerships throughout our community. I extend my appreciation to Monroe County, the Town of Parma, and the Hilton Central School District. Through collaboration and a shared commitment to serving residents, we are able to accomplish far more together than any one organization could achieve alone. These partnerships help make Hilton a community that continues to grow and thrive.
I would also like to recognize and thank the members of the Hilton Fire Department. Their courage, professionalism, and willingness to answer the call at any hour exemplify the very best of public service. We are grateful for their dedication to protecting our residents, businesses, and visitors.
Most importantly, as we enter this season of thanksgiving and celebration, I am thankful for our neighbors, community members, and families. It is the people of Hilton who make this village such a special place. Whether volunteering, supporting local events, helping a neighbor in need, or simply taking pride in our community, your contributions help create the strong sense of hometown spirit that defines Hilton.
As we head into the holiday season, let us take time to appreciate the many blessings we share and the people who make them possible. On behalf of the Village Board and staff, I wish you and your loved ones a joyful Thanksgiving, a wonderful holiday season, and a bright New Year. Together, let us continue building a welcoming, vibrant, and connected Village of Hilton for generations to come.
Andrew Fowler, Village of Hilton Mayor

Upcoming Events
Upcoming Holiday Closures
The Village Office and Department of Public Works will be closed on Wednesday, November 11th for the Veteran's Day Holiday and Thursday, November 26th through Friday, November 27th for the Thanksgiving Holiday.
π·π§£Department of Public Works - Winter Editionπ§€πβ
βAs the snow begins to fall, the Department of Public works thanks residents for shoveling and clearing snow and ice around your refuse carts, which should be placed at the end of the driveway with the handle facing the street. Cans, bags, and bulk items that are snowed in, placed on sidewalks, or are otherwise inaccessible will not be collected. And don't forget to do the same for the recycling bin! We sincerely appreciate every resident's assistance to help refuse collection move along efficiently every week!
π οΈSidewalk & Gutter Repairs β Let Us Know!
Have a broken, cracked, or heaved sidewalk or gutter where it crosses your driveway? We want to know about it! The Village DPW will be scheduling concrete repairs for the spring, and you can help us get your repair on the list by contacting the DPW no later than April 1, 2027. Repairs will be completed at no cost to the resident and, when possible, scheduled before the road work season gets underway. Once spring arrives, our DPW crews will be busy tackling projects throughout the Village, so repairs reported after the deadline may not be completed until the following spring. π·π§ A quick heads-up once your new concrete is installed: no heavy equipment may be driven over the new concrete for three weeks. Passenger vehicles may cross after one week. Thanks for helping us keep Hiltonβs sidewalks, driveways, and streets safe and looking their best! π
π§ DPW Pole Barn Construction Is Wrapping Up! ποΈ
π¨ Construction on the Village of Hilton Department of Public Works (DPW) pole barn is starting to wind down, and weβre excited to see this project coming together! π· With help from ARI Concrete, the Town of Greece, and the Town of Parma, our Hilton DPW team poured an impressive 96 yards of concrete for the new barn!
β So, whatβs the purpose of this new building? It will provide shelter for DPW equipment, including all of our refuse and recycling trucks, protecting them from the elements and helping extend their useful life. Whatβs next? The finishing touches include installing ventilation and heaters, followed by milling and paving outside the barn to help direct water away from the building. A big thank you to everyone who helped make this project possible! This new addition will help our DPW team protect valuable equipment and keep serving our community for years to come. π
π Leaf Collection
π Leaf collection in the Village continues through December 11, 2026. Please be sure to rake your loose, unbagged leaves as close to the road as possible for the vac truck, but keep leaves out of the street and gutters. Avoid raking sticks or stones into the piles, which can damage the truck. The DPW will make sweeps around the Village for leaf collection. Thank you for your patience!
New Traffic Pattern: Dunkin' Parking Lot
As the Dunkin' project nears completion, a new entrance/exit to the Dunkin' parking lot has opened up onto Panarites Lane.
Please be advised that this exit is a LEFT TURN ONLY and all exiting traffic onto Panarites Lane must turn left and head towards Tops Plaza and Village II Drive.
The Dunkin' project is on pace to wrap up in the next couple of months.
Safety Tips from the Fire Marshall
π FALL IS HERE - As the leaves begin to change and the temperatures start to drop, itβs a great time to make sure your home and family are prepared for a fire emergency.
π ARE YOU THE HEAD OF YOUR HOUSEHOLD? Are you the person your family relies on to protect them and keep them safe? Take a few minutes this month to check your homeβs fire safety equipment.
π¨ CHECK YOUR SMOKE & CARBON MONOXIDE ALARMS
- Every bedroom should have a working smoke alarm.
- Smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms are required on each floor, including the basement when gas appliances are present.
- Check the manufacture date on your alarms. Alarms should be less than 10 years old.
- Test your alarms regularly and replace batteries as needed.
π₯ DONβT FORGET THE KITCHEN!
A fire blanket can be a helpful tool to have readily available in the kitchen for certain small fires.
πΎ PROTECT EVERYONE β INCLUDING YOUR PETS!
Your fire safety plan should include your pets, too. Make sure everyone in your household knows two ways out of every room and where to meet outside in case of an emergency.
π§― NEED HELP? Village residents who have questions about proper alarm placement, which type of alarm to use, or home fire safety are encouraged to contact the Fire Marshalβs Office for assistance. A few minutes of preparation today could make a life-saving difference tomorrow. Make fire prevention part of your fall routine!
β€οΈ STAY SAFE. LIVE LONG.
π Home of the Champions Signs Getting an Upgrade!
π Exciting things are in the works for the Village of Hiltonβs Home of the Champions signs! The Hilton Central School District recently approached the Village Board with a request to take responsibility for updating and maintaining the signs, which are owned by the Village.
β The request was approved and the school district is exploring an educational partnership that would involve students in the design and development of updated signage. This is a great opportunity for students to apply their classroom skills to a real-world community project! The district will cover all costs associated with the sign updates and future upkeep. The signs may be temporarily removed for assessment, with updates planned for completion by spring 2027.
The Village will continue caring for the garden plantings around the base of the signs, keeping the area looking beautiful! π· Weβre proud to see our schools and community working together to give these hometown symbols a fresh new look! π
π Giving Thanks for our Residents and Community π
As we reflect on all we have to be thankful for this season, we are especially grateful for the wonderful residents who make the Village of Hilton such a special place to call home. Our community is built on the kindness, generosity, and hometown spirit of the people who live, work, volunteer, and support one another here. Thank you for being part of what makes our Village so special! From our Village family to yours, we wish everyone a happy, healthy, and heartwarming Thanksgiving! π§‘
