Dragon News
McKelvey Primary
November 6, 2025
Dear McKelvey Primary Families,
Donuts with Dragons was so much fun! Thanks for having your student join us with their special grownup last Friday! Thank you again to PTO for providing the donuts.
I wanted to give you some information about how we support our students here at school. We use a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS): A comprehensive approach to making sure all students are successful in school. This includes high-quality instruction for all students, additional time and support for students in need, and intensive intervention for students with significant needs. It also includes the development of structures to support identification of and student access to all levels of support.
While we miss our students when there is no school, the work that we do during those Professional Development days is vital in supporting the growth of our students. We learn about our systems and how to continue supporting all of our learners.
Sincerely,
Dr. Christina Pliske

Calendars
Below is a link to our district calendar (click the blue button) as well as a snapshot of the half and no school days throughout the year. We know unplanned absences will occur, but your child's attendance is extremely important. We miss them when they are gone and they miss important learning and social interaction when they are not at school. If possible, when planning for appointments and/or vacations, please attempt to use the afternoons of half days or days off school throughout the year.
