Hello Woodcrest Families,
Students and staff had a great time celebrating Dot Day on Monday! The halls are filled with students' creative artwork - they have
Thank you to the families who have reached out about the playground. Unfortunately, I do not have a clear time estimate for when the work will be completed. Due to the construction around the district, there have been delays. It is my hope that the playground will be open for students in the near future.
Have a great week!

Back to School Night
The Woodcrest teachers and staff are excited to welcome you to Back to School Night on Wednesday, September 25 at 6:00 pm to 7:10 pm.
Each teacher has planned a brief presentation that will give you an overview of the classroom expectations, procedures, goals and curriculum. Since Back to School Night has been designed to provide the opportunity for parents/guardians and teachers to meet, children should not accompany their parents to this program.
In order to maximize your time with your child’s teacher, Mrs. LaGamba, the Guidance Counselor, and I recorded a brief video presentations for you to view at your convenience (linked below). We will both be available throughout the evening in the Small All-Purpose Room (Small APR) near the Main Office.
Grades K-5 Classroom and Autism Support Teachers will offer two sessions, both covering the same content. You only need to attend one session.
Session #1: 6:00 to 6:30 pm
Session #2: 6:40 to 7:10 pm
Resource Room Teachers, Ms. Richetti and Ms. Di Julio, will be available in Room 14 during both sessions.
Encore Teachers, Guidance Counselor, Librarian, Therapists, Nurse, Case Manager, Literacy Teacher Coach and Math Teacher Coach will be available in the Small APR from 6:00 to 7:10pm.
Please note that Back to School Night is not a Parent/Teacher Conference. If you have individualized questions for the teacher(s), please email or call to discuss them at a later time. Families unable to attend can contact the staff member directly to schedule a time to talk.
I look forward to meeting with you during this special evening and I thank you for your participation at our Back to School Night Event. Your partnership will help us ensure a successful school year for your children.
Character Day 2024
Woodcrest is celebrating Character Day on Wednesday, September 25.
Arrival and Dismissal Reminders
Morning Drop-Offs
- Please pull cars up as close as possible to the main entrance so that multiple cars can unload simultaneously. Staff members are available to help escort students into the building as needed.
- We ask that parents do not get out of the car unless absolutely needed. As we enter the fourth week of school, we are trying to build students' independence.
Do not pass or drive around cars that are in the drop-off line. This is a safety concern for families and students walking across the parking lot.
Please do not park in front of the main entrance during arrival. This slows down the drop-off line and presents a safety concern.
Dismissal Procedures
- Any changes to your child's dismissal procedure (e.g., if you are picking your child up instead of taking the bus) must be communicated to the Mrs. Petroski in the main office (npetroski@chclc.org) and your child's teacher as soon as possible.
- When waiting to pick up your child, please do not approach the school building or look into windows. This can be alarming to the students and staff in the classroom.
From the Office of Curriculum and Instruction:
Please save the date for the ST Math Virtual Family Workshop! Registration will open the week of October 1st. See the attached flyer for dates.

Fair Funding Committee
Fair Funding is an initiative of Zone PTA. We are parents, guardians, educators, and taxpayers who have come together to advocate for our money to come back to our own students. For decades, Trenton has not sent our hard-earned tax dollars back to support Cherry Hill schools - instead it goes to other districts. Our representatives need to hear our voice! We meet monthly during the school year to discuss our ongoing efforts.
Please join us this Thursday, September 26 on Zoom (https://us02web.zoom.us/j/8065492973?pwd=bURBYkx4bHJHUFIwSzhoaTBITTFtQT09&omn=87364088790, Meeting ID: 806 549 2973, Passcode: SFhz9Z) to help plan for the rest of the year.
