West Families,

This month we have been focusing on the word Belonging and what that means and looks like at our school. In addition, we have been learning more about our Deaf and Hard of Hearing friends and community. Thank you to all for wearing blue today to support and bring awareness of DHH.

Next week we welcome the month of October. On Friday (2nd), PTC will sponsor another Popcorn and School Store time. Please send money with your children in the morning if you would like to participate. More information from PTC is included in this newsletter (scroll down).

Please take a quick minute to fill out this Volunteer Constant form . This is required for anyone who wants to attend a field trip, help with popping popcorn, working at the school store etc. Once the form is filled out it does take 5-7 business days to process, so make sure to fill it out at least a 7 days in advance.

Season: Students should stay home from school if they have a fever (temperature above 100.4 F) by any method and a change in behavior or other signs and symptoms (such as a sore throat, rash, vomiting or diarrhea). Students may return to school when fever-free for 24 hours without fever reducing medications. Consult with your primary health care provider for recommendations of an illness, fever, or flu vaccine.

Student Absences

Just a reminder if your student will be absent or late, please email westoffice@nvps.net or call 616.361.3470 the day of the absence, preferably by 10:00am.

Student Tardy

Students are marked tardy if they arrive to class after the 8:25am bell. Please make sure to sign them in on the Chromebook located in our lobby if you drop off students after this time.

Student Pick Up

Please contact the office before 2:00pm with any pick up or end of day changes. This helps the office make sure the students will get the message in time.

*If your student is attending an appointment of any kind please provide the office with a doctor's note
