Welcome Back Pettigrew Families

It was wonderful seeing so many familiar and new faces at our Open House! Thank you for coming out to kick off the year with us. Thanks to your support and our staff's hard work, we have had a fantastic, smooth start to the school year. Here are a few important updates and upcoming events for September:

Pettigrew Fun Run (September 14th–25th)

Our annual Fun Run is right around the corner! Every student will participate and receive a free Pettigrew T-shirt, along with opportunities to earn fun prizes as they help raise funds. You are invited to come and watch on September 25th. I will send you information soon

This year, proceeds will go toward updating and maintaining our front rock garden. As many of you know, our rock garden is a school tradition where our 5th graders select and engrave meaningful quotes to leave their mark on Pettigrew. Over time, weeds and stray rocks on the sidewalk have made the area difficult to maintain. The funds raised will allow us to renovate this space, making the front of our school clean, beautiful, and welcoming for all our families. Watch for registration and donation details coming home soon!

Student Goal Setting: Focus on Literacy

Setting clear goals helps our students take ownership of their learning. Later this month, every child will select a personal growth goal in literacy and build an action plan to reach it. Teachers will be guiding students through this process, so keep an eye out for updates on how you can support your child’s literacy goals at home.

Parking Lot Safety & Morning Drop-Off

A huge thank you to all our parents and guardians for following our parking lot procedures! Traffic has moved efficiently, and most importantly, our students are staying safe. As a quick reminder as we establish our daily routines:

Drop-Offs: Please use only the half-circle lane to drop off your children in the morning.
Crosswalk Safety: If walking from the parking lot, students must always use the crosswalk and be accompanied by an adult.
