Principal Batten's Weekly Message
Good afternoon V3A students, families, and staff. I hope that you have had a wonderful 3-day weekend celebrating the Labor Day weekend. This week, we hope to have most of the Canvas and Edmentum courses active and students should begin to complete assignments on Canvas or Edmentum, if they have not yet done so. Students and parents, please join the V3A Class Dojo to ensure that you do not miss any class and school messages.

DAILY Reminders. Students should...
- Check their email and Canvas daily
- Attend ALL Zoom classes and Intervention Zoom sessions (until told otherwise)
- Follow all virtual learning Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Complete ALL assigned work
- Contact your teacher if confused and/or you need extra help
SCHEDULE
- MONDAY (September 1) No School - Labor Day holiday
- TUESDAY (September 2) MTSS Training at VCMS 3:30-4:30pm (select staff)
- WEDNESDAY (September 3)
- THURSDAY (September 4) Make-up Student/Parent Zoom meeting 12:30pm
- FRIDAY (September 5)
- September 15 - October 3: iReady Beginning of the Year (BOY) Assessment window

Volunteer Applications Available Online
If you have someone interested in becoming a volunteer, they can now complete the application online! It is also still available in paper form. The application can be accessed on the VCS website under Community...or the direct link to the online application is https://bit.ly/VolunteerVCS.
The Process:
1. Application Submission Online (or paper copy turned in to Communications)
2. Applications processed through Communications
3. Background Check initiated by HR
4. Prospective Volunteer completes information from BiB in email
5. HR reviews the results upon BiB completion
6. Communications contact prospective volunteers with results
7. If approved, the volunteer must pick up a badge and is added to the official volunteer list.
Please note, the volunteer application may take up to 2-weeks to process.
