Please call the Attendance Line to Report an Absence

Principally Speaking

As we approach spring break, I want to encourage families to continue to read and complete our Ozzie Reading minute challenge. In an effort to provide books, we will be sending books home with each student. These books will have the below flyer sent home to accompany them. We do not expect these books to be returned but to be enjoyed and then passed along to other readers.

I hope that everyone enjoys the week long break, and also has a wonderful Easter. Upon return, Tuesday, April 2, 3, and 4 all students in grades 3-5 will begin taking the Illinois Assessment for Readiness, this state test is a standardized test. All classes will begin with math the first week followed by the reading and writing portion the following week.

Hello Lincoln Families!

All students were given the opportunity to pick some free books to keep at home. Students picked books based on their own interests and some of the books may need to be read with your child. Please do not send these books back to school. If and when your family outgrows the books then please give them to another family or donate them.

It's that time of year again and we are looking for all 3-5th grade students that are ready to join us for Spring Run Club! Run Club will be after school on Mondays from 4/1/24- 5/13/24. We will meet from 3-4pm each Monday and we will be walking/running laps to get us ready for the 5k at the end of the season.

We will walk from Lincoln down to the grassy open space at the bottom of the sledding hill at Langum Park. All students will need to be signed out and picked up from the park at 4pm.

Our goal is to finish out the season on Thursday, May 16th with the She Runs the Fox 5K. This run is sponsored by the Fox Valley Trail Runners and takes place along the river in Batavia. Families will need to register for this race independently of Lincoln Run Club. The students did great and had a BLAST last year at this running event!

Please complete the Google form to enroll your child in the Lincoln Run Club before Friday, March 22nd. We will be meeting the first Monday back from spring break so we need to have all students signed up and ready to go!

We look forward to a great season together!

It is recommended for students to complete 45 minutes in each contant area. Students work on this at school and at home, we encourage you to check in and see how they are doing, and encourage them to complete the required minutes, as it is a proven way to improve skill development.

Each week we will recognize 2-3 students per classroom on the previous weeks work. Below are our first group of students that are iReady Rockstars!

Pick up and drop off procedures

The car line on the north side of the building is for drop off, please do not park your car and get out. If you feel like your child needs assistance getting out of their car seat or you need to get out during the process please park your car in the library lot and you can walk them over to the door.

When picking up for an appointment early

If your son or daughter needs to leave school mid-day for an appointment, please understand that we will not call your child down to the office until you are here. Time in school is very limited and every moment counts, once you are here we will call them and promptly have them come down to leave with you, but we do not want to call ahead because often they are missing valuable instruction waiting for the pick up due to unforeseen circumstances. Thank you for understanding.

The District 303 Board has approved boundary maps for elementary, middle, and high schools. Maps are effective with the 2024-2025 school year beginning this fall. The Board's decision completes a process that began last fall to reduce school overcrowding and help to ensure equitable learning experiences across the District. District 303 had contracted with demographer RSP & Associates to create concept maps based on Board-approved guiding principles and community feedback. Please see the parent notice from Superintendent Gordon to learn more and review the approved maps.
