A note from Mrs Fitzsimons
Happy Half-Term,
Today we had great fun breaking the rules. Thanks for contributing to that, the money raised will go back into improving your child's education and experiences at Spa Primary. Thanks to the School Council for organising it.
We had a very special day on Tuesday this week as our Governors came in to meet the staff and children. They enjoyed our E-safety assembly on the joys and dangers of AI. This was led by Mrs Kernaghan, our ICT coordinator, and our Digital Leaders. They then had some time in all the classrooms, seeing the good practice that goes on every day in Spa Primary. I have attached a lovely email we received from our Chair, Mr H Shields.
A massive congratulations to Jay Foster, Jenny Gunson and Lily Henderson who have made it to the finals of the Northern Ireland Primary Cross Country Race to be held on 27th February. We are very excited for them.
I hope you all have a lovely half-term and we will see you on Mon 16th February,
Mrs F
Helping Hinch help Spa
On Wednesday Clive Anderson from Helping Hinch Plus came to Spa to deliver a big cheque for the school. The local charity gave us £500 and we are extremely grateful. The school council will listen to their classmates and come to us after half-term with some ideas on what to spend it on.
P6 take joy in GIVING with St Francis
P6 enjoyed Shared Education with St Francis Primary School. They focused on the theme of ‘Giving’ linked to ‘The Five Ways to Wellbeing’. Everyone made a jar as a special gift for a parent, grandparent or carer with ‘Reasons I Love You’. A lot of creativity and imagination went into decorating the jars and writing thoughtful notes. 🥰
Safer Internet Day with our Digital Leaders
We celebrated Safer Internet Day on Tuesday 2nd February. All of our Digital Leaders played an important role in Assembly to assist Mrs Kernaghan with exploring the theme of Artificial Intelligence (AI). We discussed how we use AI and the importance of using it safely and responsibly. Well done to the Digital Leaders! 👏
Raising Readers Together
This is a parent night not to be missed. Please put it in your diary now and plan to attend. We guarantee something for everyone, regardless of the age of your child.
