Olive Vista MS will be closed for Spring Break
It is School Experience Survey Time! Only about 60% of our parents have responded so far!
We ask each member of the community to complete the survey and let us know their opinion of their experience with Olive Vista. We encourage you to to select "Agree" or "Strongly Agree" or "Disagree" or Strongly Disagree" when answering questions to really give us feedback we can use.
We encourage you to watch our student created video sharing the importance of completing the survey and a brief review a few of our many school and student events. Click here for our video!
Check out a review of this school year so far
Did you know that your child's Advisory class teacher wants to know when you complete the survey?
Your child was given a sheet for your signature to let their advisory teacher know that you have completed the survey. Please sign the half sheet of paper and have your child turn it in their advisory teacher as soon as possible. Don't have the sheet of paper? Take a screenshot and have your child submit to Advisory class via Schoology! Thank you for taking the time to help us know what we are doing well and where we can improve.
It is not too late to purchase the 2025-2026 Yearbook!
Yearbooks can be pre-ordered in the student store for $45. Only cash is accepted.
They will be delivered in May 2026 before the end of the school year.

New Parent Workshops in March and April!
Parent workshops are planned for the next few weeks in the parent center starting at 9:00 am on Mondays. Families will have an opportunity to learn tools to teach their child to make healthy and safe decisions with guidance.
ELPAC TESTING BEGINS!
Our students in the English Language Development Program will begin testing to determine if they are eligible to reclassify. Testing will take place during the next few weeks and we wish the students the best of luck. Do your best! The reclassification criteria shown below.
For more information about the ELPAC - click here for more information.
Students and families can click here for Practice and Training Tests.
What are the requirements for a student to reclassify from being an English Learner?
Our goal is for all of our students to leave Middle School as reclassifed if they come to us as English Learners. This opens up additional opportunities at the high school level for more flexibility in classes and in elective choices. Take a look a the requirements.

Students will be issued a pouch to store their phones starting on the first day of school. All families have the option of leaving the phone at home. If students bring it to school, they are expected to store it away in the pouch before entering the gate and will be allowed to unlock the device as they exit the campus. Phones will remain locked away during the time students are on campus including during the after school program.
GETTING TO SCHOOL SAFELY!
As we kick off the new school year, I want to take a moment to encourage everyone to stay mindful of traffic safety whether walking, biking, or driving to campus. Please take a moment to review the attached August Traffic Safety Tips, which offer helpful reminders to ensure everyone gets to and from school safely.
In particular, I urge extra caution when traveling through the area near {Insert Intersection Cross Streets}. This intersection tends to be especially busy during drop-off and pick-up times, so let’s stay alert and considerate of one another.
Wishing you all a safe and successful start to the school year!
Medical Resources for all Families
Attention all 6th grade families!
All students entering 7th grade in August MUST meet all vaccination requirements by the first day of school. Families are reminded of the importance of planning now to see their own physician and make appointments for vaccinations. Please see flyers below for medical resources.
