ACTION REQUIRED - AskTed Updates ACTION REQUIRED - AskTed Updates

By July 31, TEA would like for each district to review the information listed in AskTED (address, phone number, principal names, and linked school websites.) This will update the information listed on the TXSchools website in August.

Also districts are asked to list their primary accountability contact in ASKTED so that they can create a distribution list to push out important information. Here is a link to Admin Questions and Info.

ACTION REQUIRED - TEAL Accountability Reports ACTION REQUIRED - TEAL Accountability Reports

The 2025 and certain 2026 accountability reports and student listings will be REMOVED from TEAL on August 11. Please make sure that you have printed/downloaded all the necessary files for your records.

Here is what will be removed:

  • 2026 Academic Accountability: 2026 Campus Pairing, 2025 Campus TELPAS Composite Scores, 2026 PEIMS Student Demographic Listing, and the 2026 Final Accelerated Testers Student Listing.
  • 2025 Academic Accountability: The 2025 Accountability Appeals Form, as well as the 2025 accountability reports and data tables, 2025 accountability data downloads, and 2025 confidential student listings.
  • The A-F Estimator tool will also be removed.

ACTION Required - STAAR Data Files ACTION Required - STAAR Data Files

Districts have received FINAL EOC testing data files in Cambium. Please make sure to upload those files into your SIS and data software systems (DMAC, Eduphoria, On-Data Suites, etc). These files will be removed from TIDE on August 14 to prepare for the upcoming school year.

ACTION Required - Final STAAR Data Files - July 28 ACTION Required - Final STAAR Data Files - July 28

Districts are scheduled to receive final STAAR 3-8 reports on July 28 which will include Science. These files can be uploaded into Eduphoria, DMAC, ON Data Suites and other platforms that your district uses. The files will be removed August 14 as TIDE prepares for the rollover for 26/27.

College Prep Course Update College Prep Course Update

The updated Approved College Prep Course list has been released. Note - There is NO approved College Prep Course for Math this year. Students can take a college prep math course for course credit towards graduation requirements. However, this alone will not count for the CCMR math requirement. Students must also pass the TSIA, SAT, or ACT math assessment if this is the route that they are using to earn CCMR. I am attaching the 2027 CCMR requirements to this email along with the Smore that I sent earlier. (July 2 TAA)

Note - College Bridge is now approved as an ELAR College Prep Course.

Reminder - College Prep courses must now be taken during a student's senior year to count for CCMR credit.

Automatic Enrollment in Middle School Advanced Math Automatic Enrollment in Middle School Advanced Math

To identify students who qualify for automatic enrollment in the Middle School Advanced Mathematics Program, compare each student's Grade 5 STAAR Mathematics scale score to the TEA-published statewide cutoff score, which represents the 60th percentile (top 40% of Texas students). Scale scores may be found on the Raw Score Conversion Tables page. Students whose scale score meets or exceeds the TEA cutoff must be automatically enrolled in the program unless a parent or guardian chooses to opt out. For reference, the Spring 2026 cutoff was a scale score of 1667.

CCMR Tracker Part 2 - July 23 CCMR Tracker Part 2 - July 23

The CCMR Tracker Part II will be released on July 23 in TEAL. The CCMR Tracker Part II will include SAT, ACT, AP, IB, and Level I/II certificate results updated through the 2024–25 school year. This release complements CCMR Tracker Part I, which includes PEIMS-submitted CCMR indicators, TSIA results, and OnRamps data through the 2024–25 school year.

Students who will be included in 2026 accountability ratings, 2025 annual graduates and non-graduates, will not be included in the CCMR Tracker, Part II. Data updates for 2025 graduates and non-graduates for SAT, ACT, AP, IB, and Level I/II Certificates were already communicated through the CCMR Verifier Listing on June 4, 2026. The Final CCMR Listing for 2025 annual graduates and non-graduates will be available in early August and will include data updated through the CCMR Verifier and eligible PEIMS Working Submissions.

A-F Estimator A-F Estimator

The A-F Estimator is a tool that enables the calculation and estimation of a campus's performance in each domain and overall ratings and is one of the featured tools shared during TEA's Accountability Tools webinar. The How to Use the A-F Accountability Estimator Tool video provides a 3-minute spotlight on the tool and its purpose, offering helpful context for how the estimator can be used in accountability planning and analysis. This video is intended as an introductory resource and can be used to build foundational understanding of the A-F Estimator tool.

HB 1416 Ratio Waiver List HB 1416 Ratio Waiver List

The HB 1416 Ratio Waiver List (RWL) approves supplemental instructional products that may be used to waive the 4-to-1 student-to-tutor ratio for eligible students as determined by HB 1416. While school systems may use a variety of instructional tools to support accelerated instruction, only products included on the RWL are eligible for the ratio waiver.

HB 1416 Ratio Waiver List Overview:

  • Products were evaluated based on evidence of efficacy, rigor of supporting research, opportunities for student independence, alignment with accelerated instruction requirements, and alignment with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS).
  • School systems are responsible for selecting, contracting, and funding any product they choose to implement.
  • TEA did not conduct a suitability review of products on the HB 1416 Ratio Waiver List. Vendors are required to meet SBOE suitability requirements to remain eligible.
School systems are responsible for ensuring that all instructional materials meet local suitability standards and applicable state requirements, including:
  • All products approved for inclusion on the HB 1416 Ratio Waiver List must also be reviewed and approved through the State Board of Education’s (SBOE) Instructional Materials Review and Approval (IMRA) process when the applicable subject area or course is called for review.
  • Additional information about the HB 1416 Ratio Waiver List and review process is available on the HB 1416 webpage.

The review process for the HB 1416 Ratio Waiver List was conducted in winter 2025 and included a third-party evaluation of the rigor of research studies submitted by supplemental online curriculum vendors. Based on the results of that evaluation, no new products were approved for inclusion on the 2026-27 HB 1416 Ratio Waiver List.

2028 Accountability Refresh 2028 Accountability Refresh

The Accountability System is scheduled for a Refresh in 2028. Several resources have already been released:

  • 2028 Accountability Framework
  • 2028 A-F Refresh FAQ

To ensure the 2028 refresh uses the most recent baseline data possible, 2028 cut scores will be calculated by including 2026 results data later this year. Given the timelines involved, we anticipate that the proposed 2028 manual with cut scores will be released in Fall 2026. Adoption of the final 2028 manual and 2026 What If ratings will follow soon after, anticipated in Early 2027.
