Rockbrook Safety Patrol 2026-2027
An Opportunity for 5th and 6th Grade Students

Safety Patrol Volunteers Needed
With the completion of our construction, we are again looking for 5th and 6th grade students willing support our school as members of the Rockbrook Safety Patrol. Students volunteer for a week at a time in either a before school or an after school time slot. All students (even those who have previously done safety patrol) will be trained to ensure they know the safety rules for providing this important job at our school.
Please talk with your child about how they can help give back to their school community by participating in this program. While not required, students who participate also receive a weekly incentive for helping our school.
About School Safety Patrol
- Complete training in traffic safety.
- Protect students from hazards of crossing roads and highways on their way to and from school.
Safety Patrol Shifts
- Morning (Before School) Safety Patrollers should plan to be on duty from 8:10-8:25.
- Afternoon (After School) Safety Patrollers should plan to be on duty from 3:30-3:45 (3:00-3:15 Wednesdays)
What if I Have a Schedule Conflict
While we hope that students are able to commit to the full week, we know that appointments, activities, and other conflicts arise. We ask that students do everything they can to be available for shifts they've singed up for, and when that doesn't work, for families to notify the office to arrange for a substitute by emailing rockbrook.66@westside66.net
Training
All safety patrol members are trained before performing their duties. Students view a short video to provide an overview of responsibilities. In addition, they work with school staff to identify where posts are at and expectations while on duty.
Our Mission: Each Child. Each Day. Each Other.
